I really fancy getting one of these Tikkas. Most of my scopes are SFP, so I thought I would do something different for once.

So what FFP scope would you match to this rifle combo. It needs to meet the full potential of this rifle combo to say 1000m. Most of the action is fox to 500m and then steel beyond.
Budget not a concern. Adjustment restricted to flat base and 30mm tubes. I prefer uncluttered reticules. Repeatable locking turrets a must. Illuminated reticle a plus.

Not wanting to sound like a dick but you just described about 20 scopes, all of which have robust discussions here about what is best.

I would reco you do some legwork work and then rephrase about a couple of particular ones. In the meantime you can start with all the heavy players.

Vortex
Burris
nightforce
bushnell
march
S&B
etc

they all have multiple versions of the scope you described.

My SFP scopes are Zeiss and Swaro's.
30mm because I have spare a full set of NF Picatinney mounts and shame to go to waste.
The T3 A1 isn't the heaviest rifle but sure you could bolt on just about anything. Should think a 30mm tube would be big enough to do enough.
I can see the T3 A1 being competition for the Ruger Tac, so thought this would have found a select few scopes to match it up to a sensible combo by now. A short list to compliment the potential.

Suppose I am being a dick asking too open a question and no one has any real feelings on the matter because the selection is too varied; everyone has "their" take... .

I have done some legwork and in truth its a mess of options with no manufacturer giving anything solid as they all come with "something" or several "somethings" that doesn't tick every box. I just wanted a few solid choices from those who are happy with their choices.

I'll wade through the catalogues again.
S&B: heavy and don't like their reticules.
March: eyebox concerns.
NF: wow the prices have skyrocketed, hope the glass has improved from yesteryear.
Leupold: no one has much great to say about them.
Bushnell: like but not on this rifle.
Burris: not doing it for me, hasn't for a long time.
Swaro: hunting scopes sure, but not for this.
Zeiss: have in SFP.
Vortex, is the glass up to what I'm used to?

Again its a mess out there.

Off hand I can't think of a single decent FFP 30mm Tactical scope with locking turrets except the Vortex HD AMG 6-24x50mm. Plenty of 34mm Tactical scopes with locking turrets BTW....You need to do some leg work on your own like here: https://swfa.com/optics/browse/riflescopes.html

or here: http://www.eurooptic.com/

Absolutely this 100% the Vortex AMG is the only scope that fits your listed criteria. Good luck finding one in stock, but you may find one on the PX new or slightly used.

I'm seriously looking at this rifle as well.

One consideration you did not mention but I figured I would ask is if you are even remotely interested in shooting PSR matches. If so even if its far down the line consider the requirements of the "Stock" class in which the total of rifle and scope can not exceed $4k or $2k for scope and $2k for glass (MSRP). I think this is an ideal platform for that class.

If matches are not a consideration disregard but if it is keep this in mind.

I have always thought the S&B H2CMR a great reticule which can be fast but also give more than just a plex.

So I am a click SFP rifle shot. Game shooting point blank, varmint shooting click, and range shooting click again.
I used to do Service Rifle too, AFSAM, all ranges and fast targetry. We were limited to issue optics.

The T3 A1 in the Creedmoor seems to lend itself to Practical Matches, Civilian Service Matches, PSR or whatever; and well up to a culling and varmint use. So seems to me just the platform to go FFP with the advantages and differences the optical system brings.
I wanted a change and this might be an answer.

The Vortex AMG certainly has all the toys, a complete system and seems a pretty good match to rifle without going over the top, nor blowing the bank.
The EBR-7 Reticle MRAD would be a change from my usual but then thats half the point; I have other rifles doing my SFP that I'm used to and competent on.
Weight of Rifle, weight of scope, weight of bolt ons, add it up and its still makes it a portable package, that should get the most out of the round whilst be pretty adaptable to where ever I might use for.

Lastly, price point does matter as if kept under control then there is more cash for ammunition. Buying bangs is the whole point, best if accurately delivered too.

Yeah, unless you are willing to look at 34 mm scopes the vortex amg is the only one I can think of to match all your criteria. In this price range a good set of rings is relatively minor cost compared to scope so if it were me I would be open to different tube sizes as long as it fits your other preferences.

It will be my 2017/18 project rifle so I might have to look at 34mm rings as thats where it is all going.
Reticules are aways interesting.
I love my Zeiss and Swaro for their forgiving eyebox's. Something Jap and US optics don't always get as forgiving.

The T3 A1 isn't some heavyweight, a mid weight at a tad over 11lbs, so all tooled up, sound moderator, it could be made manageable. Some thunking huge scope would make it top heavy so require a more convoluted bipod too get some balance back. More than an AR weight but not an AI weight. Think this combination doesn't require too much of a brick of a scope.
Some more thought me thinks. The AMG is a good start point, good compromises, so thank you all.
