fgmm 168 velocity from a 16 tube

what velocity can I start with for a 16 gas gun and fed gold metal match. Also can 155 scenars run from this length or is one best served with bigger pills. Ie 178 hornadt hpbts or match kings. one more thing, what about superformance powders?

2400-2450? fps for match ammo out of a 16" would be my guess. You won't know until you buy a chronograph and even then chronos can be finicky.

Just pick a proven powder+bullet combination and develop a load for your rifle. Look here to get an idea of the powders and bullets people are using:

Superformance powders? No idea. The ones I've seen are magnum superformance, not for 308 or 223.

I don't have any data yet for 168s, and a 16" bbl. Here is a bit of data that I do have, 16" Armalite AR-10.
147gr. FMJ, Radway surplus AV:2658
135gr. SMK over 49.0grs. Varget AV:2761

I've got some 150 and 168 gr. SMKs to work up next, but it'll probably be awhile before I get around to it. Not much help I know.

I'm averaging 2417 fps for TAP 168 gr FPD and 2428 fps for FGMM 168 gr out of my 16" AR-10T Carbine. However, I'm loading 175 SMK's to 2500, but it's pretty much maxed out. 2475 fps with the 175's is very accurate. YMMV.

USAAmmo 168gr Amax gave me a 5 shot avg of 2519,USAAmmo 155 Amax 5 shot avg 2590 and USAAmmo 175gr Nosler CC's 5 shot was 2405 of my MA/Ten with a 16" RA Ultramatch barrel. My handloads with a Nosler CC 155gr and 46gr Tac were 2680.
