I have a spr style ar and looking for a precision gun. I use br4 or #41 and I went to Sportmans warehouse Yesterday and they had ton of the federal gold metal match ar match small rifle primers. They seem to be over priced $35/100. I'm happy with what I'm using but just seeing if others have used And happy with the results.

what???!!!! $35 per 100?? That's $350 for a brick of primers! I got the same ones at the LGS for $45 for 1000
If that is in fact true that is a whole new level of price gouging.
They are good, same as GMM just a little harder/thicker cup. But not at that price

BR primers in a gas gun is a huge waste of money anyway.
cheers

Again that's incorrect. Maybe if you're shooting a basic platform and not concerned about optimal performance of a load due to limitations of the barrel, but any match grade barrel where your objective is consistency and precision there's no reason to not use benchrest primers for consistent and optimal powder ignition other than being cheap.

Who ever you spoke with at the counter was an idiot... Although I don't respect the Whorehouse being a former employee and knowing how retarded they are those are $35 a brick, not per 100. The CCI BR2's are expensive and around $56 a brick. Probably just someone at the counter who didn't look at the screen and realize it meant for 10x.

Add: If you have to then show them their own website and tell them to actually click on the link that says "select from chart" since I already know they'll point at the picture and say "See it's just 1 pack..." because they like pictures since almost no one working at a lot of their stores knows anything about reloading.

Nick, your answer would still make no sense if i didn't know you, I have several match grade barreled AR (unlike you) and BR primers make no difference whatsoever and you would know that if you were actually a shooter that reloads.:)
cheers bud
How's work??
