Metaphorically that is. Just ordered a new barrel for my 700. Rock Creek .30cal M24 contour 1/10 with a 22" finish length. I was leaning towards the MTU contour but Paul said he had a pile of M24 blanks that just needed rifling, so M24 it is. Kind of excited, hopefully the next 4-5 weeks go by fast!
That is all.

Re: Finally pulled the trigger

update, smith got it installed, i got it all duracoated, hitting the range at 4:00 today to work up some loads, and since this thread is either worthless without pics, or i'll get the inevitable 'pics or it didn't happen', here is some eye candy..

Re: Finally pulled the trigger

No DBM? I have the same stock for my 243 (or I should say my son's 243). Like it alot. Trying to put the DBM on for him and a muzzle brake also. (He's only 11).

Re: Finally pulled the trigger

Nope, no DBM yet. I've got to leave something to spend money on later right? Anyway tried working up some loads with Berger and Lapua 185's driven by Rl-17, and things didn't go as well as i'd hoped. Hit the range today and was using Varget and 175 SMK's and i was much happier...

Oh, almost forgot. Lapua brass and Wolf LR Primers, seated to 2.830 OAL. Air temp 66°F, Humidity 48%, Barometric Pressure 29.95" Hg. I'm a happy camper, looks like an OCW right at 45.0gr which according to Quickload should put me just shy of 2700fps, plenty of oomph to get me to 1000 for the match i'm shooting next weekend.
