After shooting a box of Winchester Supreme, I'm gonna load up the brass with H1000. Gonna start at 75 and go to 77, in 1/2 gr increments. This is going thru my Savage 110BA. Does 75 sound like a good starting point? And should I try a 77.5? AND, are 1/2 gr increments too big? Thanks.

First thing that we need to know is what bullet you plan on using. That will be a determining factor in a lot of things.

75 is ok, I would go up in .3 incr. You may see some pressure around 76.6-.8. Some guys are getting 77 without issue, but my old 700 didn't like anything above 76.6. There's an entire sticky in the loading section with good info on 300wm loads

I would start at 74g, I found an extremely accurate lower node at 74.3 speed is 2750fps. This is on a hunting rig and I'm not a speed freak, I would rather save barrel life.

I'm thinking of 75.3-76.8, in .3 increments. I wanna shoot 3each , which is 6 loads for 18 shots. I feel like I may miss a node low or high. Should I just shoot a ladder test at say 200 yds, from 74-77, in .3 increments? Seems like a wide range.
