I just recieved these back from IonBond. After speaking with Marty at Badger and talking about keeping actions tight and running smooth - he suggested taking a look at the IonBond process and all I can say from my first impression is thank you Marty!

This action and bolt only started with .002 total clearance (.001 per side). The Ionbond added about .0002 per side of the bolt and in the action so my best guess is about .0015 clearence left. It runs like on ball bearings and greased with butter and I wiped it bone dry.

I like to keep things really tight for accuracy but it is a lot of work getting them to run smooth. This process allows you to coat the bolt and will keep it from gulling even if dry. Great stuff, if you get a chance you should read up on it.

Again thanks Marty - I was shocked. I did do just a bolt in another action and it ran smoother. But when you do them both together the difference is night and day.

The sheen is controlled by the finish you ship it with. I polished the bolt body and blasted the handle and action with aluminum oxide for a matt black.

Re: First IonbBonded Bolt and Action just came in : )

I had my M2008 along with the barrel (bore, chamber and exterior) IonBonded and it came out very nice. 495 rounds down the tube and I havent seen any negative effects of coating the bore with this stuff yet.

As far as price goes, its not real cheap.
If I remember correctly, I paid $400 - some odd for every peice of the action/firing pin..ect, 2 different optic rails, an extra bolt and the barrel.
