This is my first range report on the build of my SPS Tac in .308 with pics. Completed the build last week and had a chance to hit the range on Wednesday. Here's the setup:
Remy 700 SPS Tac .308
HS Precision PST093 M24 Stock Skim Bedded (Thanks WNRoscoe)
Tac Ops Bolt Knob
Badger M5 DBM
Hawke Sidewinder Tac 30 Scope, 6-20 x 42
UTG Base and rings.

Going to fine tune, replace base and rings with Badger and continue saving for better optics cause I am planning on putting the Hawke on my 10/22 project. (Quite honestly I have no problem with the Hawke and would recomend it to anyone with a budget)

This was the initial sight in at 200 yards for zero.

Here is the result. The wayward shot was all me (oops), otherwise the only five shots on paper at 200 yards were the group you see.

On another note, I am looking for a long distance range to test it out at beyond 500 yards relatively close to Houston Tx.
Any suggestions?

That's a very nice looking gun and a good grouping. Now you just gotta fix the shooter and that will be your new tack driver. (I'm in the same boat of fixing the shooter)

Re: First Range Report post build....

Thanks. I was looking at a Badger Thruster brake as well. It is going to be some time before I shoot this barrel out. I might have purchased a 5R by then... Looking for something that will help me keep my sight picture. I noticed that neither sandbags or bipod mattered in varying positions. Reoil is recoil, doesn't bother me at the moment...then again I have only gone to the range with 40-60 rounds at a time. I am interested in any comments on the Thruster brake, I read some posts on here using Google Search, and I do not plan on utilizing a suppressor. I would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks everyone.
