Here is my first build. was a older 4.27'' DBM Savage .223. I was gonna change out bolt face but a whole new .308 bolt from Larry " Thanks for your business" Potterfield was only $99. Ordered a Shilen stainless select match barrel, trued lug & barrel nut from Northland shooters supply along with 6.5 CM go/no go gauges. put in a McMillan Game Scout stock and topped off with a Vortex 4-16x50 HS/LR scope ( half price with work discount) it's in 6mm creedmoor and shoots great, still trying hunting loads with 95 gr Berger VLD hunting, 103 ELDX Hornady's. using RL-16 & H4350 Hard to pick a load since they all shoot great. I have under $1500 in all.
Was a lot of fun to build & now I just bought a Savage 111 trophy hunter in 7mm for $200 from a guy who needed $$ so that will be next, I'm thinking either 338 edge or 300 WM for a mile gun.
