i am new to suppressors and as so i have a few questions.

Is there any advantage to a QD other than conveniance?

Looking at a gemtech HVT and a YHM Phantom. Are these good choices?

This will be going on a 260 and will be my first suppressor.

My first concern is accuracy, will there be any decline?

Thank you, Ollie

Re: First Suppressor question

I have an old 18 tooth AAC 7.62SD and have never had an accuracy issue running it. I've shot with the can and made hits out to 1165 yards on a 12" piece of steel.

When I don't want to shoot suppressed, I have a VERY effective muzzle break on the barrel that acts as my QD attachment.

Re: First Suppressor question

I have the older style with a 18 tooth mount it has two springs that fall into the teeth over time and a lot of shooting the spings wears away leaving less tension. Then I have to send it in for repairs (pain in my butt). The new model has a 51 tooth mount and a ratchet mounting system like the one I have on my M4-2000 .556 can which I like alot. The cyclone has one more baffel and is quieter than the 762-SD. For a bolt gun get the cyclone for a simi-auto get the 762-SD.

A semi auto will cause the 762Sd to loosen up a lot faster then a bolt rifle.
The spring that locks into the teeth can be replaced by the user pretty easily. I always keep a spare in my tool kit, just in case.

I didn't know yams were a muzzle device....
If you meant YHM weight is a non issue as they have a Ti version now. They are top notch.

Re: First Suppressor question

I've got a YHM 7.62 QD and chose it specifically because my rifle is long enough that it has to be removed every time I put it in the drag bag or hard case. A QD version was a must for me. I got to test out an HVT with the bi-lock but it wiggled a little more than I liked. Didn't have any effect on accuracy though.

I shoot less than 3" groups at 400m with mine, POI shift is irrelevant because I never shoot without it. It has never gotten loose from shooting and I don't mind the weight at all. 2-3 oz difference is not worth $2-$300 in my book.

In my book, the only reason to HAVE a QD can is if you need to take it off/on quite often. Either to switch weapons or remove it to be cased. If you don't need to do this, go with the thread on model.

Shark Suppressor. No question. Call David and discuss it with him before you spend your money. A phone call is cheap and won't take much time. Give him the opportunity to talk to you about your purchase. After all you're researching right?
