Suppressors First Suppressor question

i am new to suppressors and as so i have a few questions.

Is there any advantage to a QD other than conveniance?

Looking at a gemtech HVT and a YHM Phantom. Are these good choices?

This will be going on a 260 and will be my first suppressor.

My first concern is accuracy, will there be any decline?

I have an old 18 tooth AAC 7.62SD and have never had an accuracy issue running it. I've shot with the can and made hits out to 1165 yards on a 12" piece of steel.

When I don't want to shoot suppressed, I have a VERY effective muzzle break on the barrel that acts as my QD attachment.

I have the older style with a 18 tooth mount it has two springs that fall into the teeth over time and a lot of shooting the spings wears away leaving less tension. Then I have to send it in for repairs (pain in my butt). The new model has a 51 tooth mount and a ratchet mounting system like the one I have on my M4-2000 .556 can which I like alot. The cyclone has one more baffel and is quieter than the 762-SD. For a bolt gun get the cyclone for a simi-auto get the 762-SD.

A semi auto will cause the 762Sd to loosen up a lot faster then a bolt rifle.
The spring that locks into the teeth can be replaced by the user pretty easily. I always keep a spare in my tool kit, just in case.

I didn't know yams were a muzzle device....
If you meant YHM weight is a non issue as they have a Ti version now. They are top notch.

I've got a YHM 7.62 QD and chose it specifically because my rifle is long enough that it has to be removed every time I put it in the drag bag or hard case. A QD version was a must for me. I got to test out an HVT with the bi-lock but it wiggled a little more than I liked. Didn't have any effect on accuracy though.

I shoot less than 3" groups at 400m with mine, POI shift is irrelevant because I never shoot without it. It has never gotten loose from shooting and I don't mind the weight at all. 2-3 oz difference is not worth $2-$300 in my book.

In my book, the only reason to HAVE a QD can is if you need to take it off/on quite often. Either to switch weapons or remove it to be cased. If you don't need to do this, go with the thread on model.
