I am using LC brass, CCI primers, 150 grain hornady FMJ bulk bullets and Varget. It looks like 44 grains is a nice conservative place to start, so I will likely do that.
My question is the cannelure on the bullet! If I load to the cannelure it will make the oal a hair longer than 3.71". Most books say for FMJ 150 grain bullet the oal should be 3.8, which is closer to what I am used to with SMK 175's. I do not intend to crimp these bullets, so technically I could just load them to 3.8, but will it matter? I'm not interested so much in precision accuracy, just something that will function well.
Any ideas one way or the other?
