I am wondering what would be a good fixed 10 scope for under say $1200. I shoot a 308 on my home ranges out to 1100 yards or so. I don't shoot competitions ( might one day for giggles). My current vortex goes to 16X and I only go that high to use my retical since it's a sfp. I mostly use the 10x setting. I figure I could get alot more scope in a fixed power for the price but I may be mistaken. Mainly I want the retical and tracking to be true and quality glass. Thanks.

Bushnell DMR2 & NF SHV are both better options in FFP over a fixed 10x for that kind of $$$

the days of getting better glass in a fixed power over a variable are long over

get a FFP scope with a great mag range and never look back

I cut my teeth on an old SWFA 10x mil-dot/moa turret scope. I still have it, and it is beat to hell. It is reliable as rain, and the FOV is great. If you only want to spend $300, go for the current 10x mil-quad with MRAD reticle and turrets. I also own a USO ST-10 which is a fantastic 10x as well. The EREK knob, zero stop, illum, side focus, and capped windage make it great for an all-around LE type optic. They are discontinued, but you can still find them for around $1k.

However, the above replies are correct. $1.2k is entering HDMR and SHV money. Both excellent optics. Tough decision!

USO ST10 was one of my favorite fixed powered scopes. I also run a few Leupold MK4 M1 and M3 and they are strong as all get out but the turrets do not match the MIL Ret.
