hahaha .. I love it ... a breach versus a skeet ...
Sorry veeramini ... but even I get to laugh every now and then I hope ... not at you ... just at the idea of comparing those two widgets ... it never occurred to me !
==
A breach versus a skeet is sort of like comparing a go cart to a Ferrari ...

==
The breach is fixed focus at 50yds ... that limits its value as a scanner for items over 100yds ... yes detection is possible ... and PID based on movement is also possible, but seeing details beyond 100yds is not so possible.
The skeet has an OASYS core ... and has a GREAT image ... and it has a reticle and can be used as a weapons sight in a pinch.
If "mil-spec" is of value to you, then the Skeet was made for the military. The breach was not.
I run a skeet on my helmet side by side with pvs-14 on the other side ... not sure all of them do, but my skeet has an ir laser ... and in the display when the laser is activated I can see a little aiming window. So even though I can't see the laser with the thermal (I can with the 14 on the other eye) ... I can see what I want to aim the laser at inside the thermal display. The breach doesn't have that.
But yes, the skeet has one huge downside and that is the price. But with an uncomparable image ... wpns mtn ... compass ... laser ... manual focus ... I would expect to pay more ... UNV used to have some 320 skeets for around $8k ... and those will blow the breach away ...

Another option is the Trijicon IR-Patrol ... the patrol m300W model lists at $7k ... and can be helmet mounted right out of the box, like the skeet.
The patrol has an OASYS core just like the Skeet ... the main downside is it is twice the length and twice the weight. I notice that in the house, but not when I'm out in the field. The patrol can also be a wpns sight in a pinch.
So, the patrol is "in the middle" ... not "mil spec" per se ... but backed up by trijicon electro optics support which has always treated me right.
The breach is 320 ... for shown price $2500 ... the skeet 320 shown price $8,500 ... the patrol 640 ... shown price $7000 ... and the Skeet 640 ... when you could get them ... shown price $14,500 ... now used skeets exist ... but be careful ... not all of those have a "vetted etymology" ... the 320s UNV had were go to go ... but I'm not see those up on their website any more ... so I guess those are all gone. So right now, skeets will be tough to find. Trijicon is supposed to be starting up OASYS product line production again one of these years ... hopefully the skeet wiill be first out the door, it should be ... those are great units. So right now, I'd go with the patrol ... for sure ...
