Re: FN SPR/TSR experience?
I have had two SPR A3G's. The first one wouldn't group well, and after blaming the ammo, scope, shooter, rings, bases, and anything else you can think of, FN admitted that they had a few with bad barrels, and mine was one of them. I waited nearly a year for the replacement, but that was OK because FN gave me a Leupold Mark 4 scope to say "sorry for the wait".
The second A3G was wonderfully accurate, but wouldn't feed the rounds off the left side of the magazine. They would jam into the breech face of where the barrel and receiver meet. I sent the rifle to FN 3 or 4 times for them to try and repair it.
As they couldn't repair it, they agree to replace it. I waited nearly a year (AGAIN), and they never were able to get me a replacement rifle. I ended up with an FNAR, and an FS2000 because they simply couldn't produce a replacement rifle. I have no idea if FN ever got the SPR A3G line of rifles back up.
My experience with FN has been anything other than satisfying. If it weren't for Bob Ailes' great communication and assistance I probably would have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, for whatever that would have been worth.
