Anyone have one? I was wondering how they shoot with the heavy stuff (75/77. I searched the SH google and didn't come up with anything. Thanks.

    Re: FN TSR USA .223

The samples I have shot prefer the heavier bullets. I have shot as light as 45gr and as heavy as 77gr. Accuracy always increases as I went up in grain weight. The best groups I have gotten out of a TSR-XP USA is with Federal GMM 77gr, near 1/2 MOA. It also likes the 69 gr version, but not as much: consistant 1 MOA.

I was surprised because the twist rate is 1:9. Can't argue with the bullet, though. If you own a TSR-XP USa, give some 77gr bullets a try.

    Hope this helps.

    Semper fi,

Thanks for the info! I was wondering if they would given the 1/9 twist. I would love to pick one up and drop it in an XLR Chassis.

Just got mine out to the range yesterday for sight in. I really enjoyed shooting this gun, however I did not get the groups I was hoping for, but with that said I don't feel like I had the best ammo, or vise(see pictures

) . I had Black Hills FMJ 55 grain (new), some reloaded SP 50gr, and some 40 grain VMax Hornaday. The best groups I got were from the 40 grain Vmax at a 4 shot cluster that would have been right at 1MOA, but I pulled and the shot and the group ended at well over 2 MOA. Love the feel, fit and finish is good.

I load the 69 smks short... which was what mygun liked.
Under 1 moa all day long. I shoot 50 - 100 rounds a week at 100 yds, all positional on steel. This gun just eats up these 69g smks and smiles. it makes me look good.
I can get my handload info if anyboy wants it.

I measured it as 2.366" at the narrowest spot.

Any of you guys have your triggers adjusted, or worked on additional bedding?

My Load data with the 69 G Sierra Match Bullet
In my FN TSR USA with a 1-9 twist
I use Remington brass, Federal Small rifle primers, 26 G Varget loaded to .040 off the lands. Very consistent .5 moa when I used my single stage press and trickled up the powder.
I started a few months back using my dillon 550 due to the amount I needed, and things got a little looser.
I would start lower and work up to this in your gun though.
Good Luck - let me know how it does.
