Hello everyone,

Been doing more browsing/lurking on here for a while. This is a really awesome place with a lot of serious info.
I haven't been into firearms very long. Buying my first pistol was something I never recovered from, and these things are like rabbits, sh*t!

My first real high power rifle is my M1A SuperMatch that's mated with a Boyds M21 Stock that SA uses on their production line M21's. Gone over 1300 rounds through the barrel... some of that at the farthest was a little over 500 yards scoped, bi-pod, shooting in prone... I've been messing around with all kinds of loads from surplus ammo 147gr to match grade ammo from 168gr to 175gr, and I can see a big difference between all of'em which is pretty neat. There is sure a lot to learn, and sure hell is a lot of fun...
So okay... I've been bit/hooked with long range shooting and this is what I got

It's a rifle that was built by GA Precision. Trying to learn a little more about it as I am the 3rd owner with having only 80 rounds through the barrel before I became the happy owner of this fine boom stick. It's a Rem 700 action, .308, aics 1.5, etc.. I've been told that it was off GAP's "Rock" builds... I've already put an extra 125 rounds through this beast, and oh my God?! I would say the rifle is waaayy more accurate than I will ever be.
Sorry for the long introduction. I hope some day to contribute on here, but like some... I am so new to this I have so much that I need to learn...

Thanks ahead for the welcomes.

Welcome. Nice looking stick. Sadly you have robbed everyone of the opportunity to tell you what rifle to buy.

Of course there is always the glass

Re: FNG here... sorta☺

son of'a b*tch?! I couldn't believe how much glass can cost?!
So I'm tossing whatever $$$$ aside and see what I could come up with by this Fall or something.
Right now I have a Vortex Viper mil-dot reticle. I figured before moving onto a really nice glass.. i should learn how to use it. i have ballistic calculators apps on my phone, the Mil-dot master slide rule, a cheap range bushnel range finder... I try cheaply to figuring things out and get what I read and applying some of what I retain out in the range

... but the glass thing... Ow man, I gotta get back to you on that...
I am getting accustom to doing a lot of hold overs and am looking at a Horus type reticle right now thinking that I can benefit... I haven't looked through one yet, and only seen images online.
I greatly appreciate the welcome!

Right on... the Vortex has been put through a little over a thousand rounds so far and no issues. Only thing that gets me sometimes is it has MOA turrets for a Mil-dot reticle... It's all good... I'm learning...

I sure do love me a lot of ammo.. wish I was sitting on a little bit more than I have right now of course

A year an a couple of months later

So I'm bumping this thread just to show the transformation of my first and only precision rifle (for now) which has been a lil over a year and 5 months.
I've probably put over 2400 rounds through it at this point most of which were very much enjoyable times. I've learned so much through this short time trying to give myself as much time behind the rifle and with help from a handful of great guys that share the same interest in this addiction. I'm still learning every time I go out shooting no doubt and feel that I need to learn more.
I know we all love pics.. so let me get on with it :)

It got new skins and bipod.

taking a short cut... so here's everything going full-throttle and this is what it looks like now

I think I'm done hot rodding this rifle... till I shoot out the barrel or something. .260 maybe?
