I've been done with 'popular' sports for a LONG time. When I was in my early teens I'd watch football every weekend an buy whatever new basketball jersey my favorite player had that season religiously. Now you can't get me to turn the TV on and I haven't for years mainly due to 3 things:

1) Whiny ass players that don't perform
2) Leagues dumbing the games down or fining/punishing players for either PLAYING the actual game the way it was supposed to be played or voicing opposition when bullshit new rules were forced upon them or even now for arguing a call. Pathetic.
3) Leagues/teams/players/people associated with the game trying to make it about something else than the fucking game, i.e. race, money, poor people, now even 2nd amendment rights

If I watched anything it was casually watching the superbowl each year. After the DD thing and then they turning around and allowing whatever bloomburg wanted aired to go ahead, I'll never watch anything again. Had they told both DD and BB no, I could understand. But after reading their policies it is 100% obvious how biased they are and they will advertise alcohol, tobacco, gay bullshit, 14 year olds in hotpants and whatever the fuck else as long as it isn't defending a right that the lowest common denominator crowd is offended by its fine.

The only thing I took from this was: how can DD afford a slot in the Super Bowl? That would've been a huge financial gamble. I have a feeling this was more of a publicity stunt in order to get this commercial out there...pretty intelligent marketing.

Don't forget the NFL is also considered a "not for profit" organization and they don't have to pay taxes. Gotta live that crap, yet another reason to NOT watch pro sports

What he said, with this exception. Budweiser did past one of if not the greatest commercial of all time on the Stupid Bowl.

Wow, at first I thought this must be a joke. They ever refused to air it if the silhouette of the gun were replaced with a flag.

I confess that "un-American" as it sounds I don't watch football. I had a gun and martial arts class at age 7, but I didn't get a football until I was in college so I'm just not that team-sport oriented. But my wife watches, and I will be sure to show her this story.

I did, however, see Bob Costas' pro gun-control screed. Anyone who smugly spews so much about firearms is not a sportsman. And I don't understand how people can watch games with announcers that are not sportsmen.
