I have the Forster Original Case Trimmer and so far I am happy with the consistency it provides.

I am thinking about getting the 3-in-1 mouth cutter to accomplish a couple more steps in a single action (inside and outside chamfer).

For those that have this, how is it working for you? Good, Bad, indifferent?

I am not looking to crank out 1,000's of cases in a single night. I know the Giruard is a much better solution, but comes with a price that is out of my range at this time.

Thoughts and experiences?

Get it ! I have one and love it. Inside/outside chamfer and overall trim!! all in a few cranks of the handle. Great little tool and once you set it up where you want it, you can trim 6 to 10 cases a minute.

I have the 3 in 1. Works great, Just don't use tired with 5.56 and a power drill.. (I take off the crank handle and chuck it into my dewalt drill. If the #2 chuck isn't clean you can easily lose 0.020 off your cases. Not a big deal with Lake city, but it could be depressing if you ruined a piece of SSA or lapua brass. Overall great tool. After the first thousand I did with the standard cutter and had to debur/ chamfer... I was sold on this thing. Perfect for vld or flat base. Well worth the 60 bucks or whatever it cost me.

I say rethink your position on the giraud. The "cost of ownership" is ~$50, being they cost $450 new and $400 used.

Eat ramen, get the giraud.

The 3-in-1 is great but takes forever if you've got more than a few thousandths to trim. I do it in two steps: trim a bunch with the cutting die, then attach the 3-in-1 head and chamfer. It's an extra step, and requires resetting the depth between steps, but goes quicker in the long run. Maybe I'll buy a second just for trimming.

I haven't tried it with a drill. Maybe it goes faster that way

It's amazingly fast with the drill... When I prep 308 brass by the hundreds it's not to bad. But 223 brass by the thousands makes me want to shell out 400 bucks lol.(after I get my three gun FN shotgun I am getting the uber case trimmer then annealing machine)

I've got the 3-in-1 setup with the drill chuck attachment. Works great and is very consistent but honestly haven't used it once since I moved to a Gracey trimmer. The only negative thing I have to say about the Forster is that repeatedly opening/closing the chuck does does bang up my left hand after a while.
