I just received my jaw housing plate replacement for the Forester Co-Ax press and find it to be a great alternate for the original equipment. Forum member Clark made this for me and me looks to be of great quality and machine work. Comparing the two units side by side: Clark’s prototype is wider at 1.600” vs. 1.270”, but slightly shorter @ 2.415” vs. 2.426”. The thickness is the same as the original at .255” and .116” at the bridge. However, there is more material on the prototype at the bridge opening to the edge. The coolest feature is the recessed holes for the springs vs. a groove track. This allows the springs to stay in-line and it is a lot easier to assemble, remove and clean the base and jaws. Screws hole line up perfect. Great replacement plate with a larger footprint. Shipped along with two 10-24 cap screws, very well made and quick delivery.

Re: Forster Jaw Housing Replacement

I do not understand this technology. Can you please post photos of the item in use, as well as photos which illustrate the industry problem which this device solves?

Also, can you post your finite element analysis that shows this design will withstand the rigors of reloading centerfire ammunition?

Finally, please post topless photos of the model who will be promoting this product.

Thank you.

Thanks.

Can you quantify the difference in time it takes you to swap jaw sizes?

That is what I am trying to accomplish.

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the Co-Ax?

So if you buy a co-ax press, and you buy an improved shell holder jaw housing from me, then you can criticize it so I can improve my drawing. These other guys are just sending me money and no complaints.

What you are missing is the Co-ax press has a pair of spring-loaded floating jaws for the shellholder. This concept allows the case to move laterally when feeding into the die. The die is also floating in the head of the press and can move prependicular to the line of trave of the jaws. Thus the self-aligning of the brass in relation to sizing and seating dies makes for extremely consistent runouts of loaded ammunition.

Re: Forster Jaw Housing Replacement

I tried my housing this weekend, Forster should pay Clark a royalty on these, wow switching from big to small jaw opening is fast and easy, I did try using 4 springs but found 2 works just fine, thank you Clark.
