I was priming some Lapua .308 brass this evening when I came across a case that didn't want to take a primer. I stopped to inspect the case and found this little berdan primed gem:

I made sure to go back and check every single piece of brass and luckily, this was the only one of its kind. I'm a bit surprised to see this coming from Lapua, but shit happens I guess. I'm just thankful that it wouldn't accept a boxer primer; things could've gotten ugly. The lot number is P00668801/3525112. I purchased this approximately a year or so ago from Mile High. I suggest you fellas check your lot numbers and be wary. This was a big lesson learned for me.

Pic up some range brass clean cut to size put it through my die getting to load primer found out they were berden primer. All that work for nothing lol...25 rds thank goodness that was all. Learn my lesson.

Don't know what's going on at lapua these days.... I paid a premium for 243 lapua brass couldn't find Winchester, low and behold most all cases checked had nk thickness variation of .0045". So turned all this "quality" brass . Finally found cheap Winchester brass and nk thickness variation was only .0015-.002. Had the same issue with 260 lapua brass, plus it got donuts also, more cartridge problem then brass. Nothing like having to turn nks and then a couple firings later ream inside nks for donuts.
