I am in the process of trying out different types of ammo in my Savage MK II TR. Wolf match and extra did fine but not incredible, and someone at the CVPRC 22 TSC shoot told me about the federal 922a and said I should give it a try. Well here is my question. I was told by federal that the bullet BC was .093, so I ran the number through my ballistics apps (bullet flight, Istrelok, etc) to get a good start base for the respective ranges of 112, 165, and 210. the results were not even close, @ the 210 mark I was not even on paper. The best estimate I have with the given data of scope ht, 94 clicks @ .25 moa,51.5" drop from a 50 yard zero is the bullet BC is .242 For the record the BC reported for the wolf match was .130 and all the data was spot on. And BTW I am not at all complaining about the 922a, I got a 4.5" 10 shot group @ 210 after it got on paper so I like the round, just wondering if this BC is correct, or am I figuring something wrong.
