Hi,

I am looking to start shooting some F-class at my local club but they do not shoot with rear support/bags. They say the rifle has to be touching only the shooters body behind the action. These matches are at 530 yds.

With this being the case would it be easier to shoot off of a bipod or just a front rest?

Thanks,
Jeremy45

Re: Front rest vs bipod

I'm pretty new at this sport as well so my opinion may not qualify with some of the veterans but I would say in this case that I would prefer a fixed bipod over a rest simply due to the fact that I could push forward thereby loading the bipod and creating a more stable platform to shoot from.

Re: Front rest vs bipod

Those are definitely not F class matches but something that the local match director wants to do

Generally the front rest that the open guys use is better than a pod but for the type of shooting you're doing I'd get a Harris

Ya, I understand that they are not playing by the rules but it is practice and an easy way for me to at least learn the shooting fundamentals. I was thinking the bipod made more sense in this situation.

Thanks for the input,
