I picked up an 1989 Sig Sauer P220 as my first pistol. I really love the gun but I really don't like the factory sights. The rear is a dovetail but the front sight is a permanent part of the slide.
I have two issues. I hear people say these West German P220s are collectors items. Would it be wrong to have someone remove the fixed front sight and install a dovetail for a removable front sight?
Secondly, if I decide to get that done does anyone know of a gunsmith capable of doing the job right in North East Ohio?
I'd like to put a set of Truglow TFO sights on it.
