Fucked again

I think there are estimates that as much as 30% of welfare is fraud.. that includes SS/SSD, etc. Which is interesting, because I've one family member that took years and a lawyer to finally get her SSDI.. and a current one that is now going through the same issue.. Both had worked their whole lives paying into the system, and now the system if deny, deny, deny... which is odd... guess you have to know how to work the system.

I'll cash out and take the early liquidation penalty.

Keep the fucking money out of the bank
Depending on age... SEPP allows you to get it early over 5 or more years without penalty. May at least give you an initial head start...
When it get's down too it.. later.. SHT.. pull it and don't pay the back penalties if necessary.

P.S. Make more ammo

But seriously though- let's ask a few questions. If we subscribed to taxes exchanged as services the way we subscribe to Netflix, itunes, or a utility bill, which of these "services" would we purchase?

Public education?
Section 8 housing?
Public medicine?
Food stamps?
Foreign intervention?
DEA?
ATF?

How have they convinced us this is okay?

I want 2 things- roads and border protection.

Some level of environmental protection is probably a good idea, but certainly nothing like we have now.

I'm getting fired up- TiT is Legit.
I would seriously get behind that.

I've paid into that ponzi scheme my entire life and know full well I'm never getting it back. That money just went into our dear leader slush fund so they can retire comfortably.

We have the government we deserve.

I pay into a retirement program. But company retirement programs today, are not as generous as those of my father's generation. Although social security is a bad joke, it is a joke which will add to my other retirement sources. Also. You have people working here with a fake ss number. Most of the time that number corresponds with a dead person usually from Puerto Rico. The person working knows they will never see a dime of that money and the government knows they will never have to pay a single cent to the dead man.

Nobody is forcing them to be here.

my sister was a die hard liberal, a bonafide save the whales, boycott coors type...
she got a job working for the welfare department in riverside, hoping to help...

she quit because she saw so much fraud and waste that she started to hate poor people.

I want 2 things- roads and border protection.

I want several things from my federal government
  1. An effective national defense (not offense)
  2. An effective interstate transport network (roads, air, rail, water)
  3. Border and immigration controls
  4. Funding the government through excise taxes on imports (repeal of the 16th amendment)
  5. Laws that provide for redress in interstate civil matters
  6. Laws that provide basic regulation of interstate commerce, which will need an amendment to explain to the courts and legislature what "interstate commerce" actually means.
  7. Penal laws that cover the very limited set of crimes that should have federal jurisdiction. Not a fucking duplicate of every state penal statute.

That's it. Everything else can and needs to be handled at the state, county, and town government level and by private industry

SS is a fallacy because the entire plan is a fraud. After retirement most people withdraw all they ever paid in within 3 to 5 years. After that they live off someone else's money. Here is what I wish would have been done:

  • 75% of SS tax from a persons check goes into an account tied to their SS number
  • That money is invested in a series of selections that are low risk and can return 3 to 5% a year on average
  • The other 25% goes into the SS system to keep it solvent
  • When a person retires they get a statement showing their account balance
  • That money could be paid out in a single payment or monthly - up to the recipient
  • If you cannot live on that plus other savings - tough shit

FDR intended for folks to be able to live on SS, when they had nothing else. I do think it's needed to help those who could not prepare for retirement. I think it could have worked well, if not for the expansive waste, fraud and abuse, that drains us taxpayers, via the Federal Government. Both my parents retired from Federal Civil Service and both lamented the gross waste that occurred during their working years. Examples: new office furniture every 2-3 years, multi-million $ building remodeling because a new base commander wanted something aesthetically different, disposal of tools, and other items, that were perfectly good, and the list could go on. Some of you have even better stories. It's like we are reliving the history of Rome.

seems like a ponzi scheme to me, where they have to have at least 5 people working for everyone taking benefits.
as people live longer...

Good plan. Id like to add one, a "Department of truth in advertising" of something to that effect.

Unbiased, just putting out true information on various subjects important to the people so they can make wise, informed, decisions.

One place I saw this well done was in tobacco. Honest information on the risks associated with smoking turned a lot of people away from cigarettes. (Of course the real outcome was that they just started exporting it to China and other countries) No way they should 'ban. them but just provide honest info. How about alcohol? or Cannabis?

Remember when Little Mikey Blumbag wanted to ban 128 ounce slurpies in New York? He was right, all that sugar is terrible for you, but its not the government's job to say you cant, just provide info on the consequences...rotten teeth, obesity, etc.

Popcorn anyone?

Social Security trusts to run out of money sooner than ... - CNBC

https://www.cnbc.com › 2021/08/31 › social-security-tr...

5 hours ago — The Social Security trust fund most Americans rely on for their retirement will run out of money in 12 years, one year sooner than expected, ...

Why is this a surprise?

You can qualify for Social Security Disability for simply not learning or speaking English. The most popular disability in Puerto Rico is an inability to speak English. To drunk or stoned to work? No problem, get disability. Never worked a day in your whole shit miserable life and got drug addicted? Get disability. Fat? Stupid? Lazy? No problem go on disability.

Tens if millions of foreign criminals, invaders, dopers, drunks, homeless scumbags all collect "disability" that they never contributed a dime to fund.

Regular Social Security? Jimmy Carter decided to give full social security to any immigrant who arrives even if they have never paid a dime in taxes to fund it. Every president since him as awarded social security payments for a bribe and to reward them for their votes. Again tens of millions of parasites who never paid a dime, collecting your taxes.

Social Security has always been a Ponzi Scheme. At some point, the Federal government decided to use the funds for their overspending and placing worthless Federal bonds in their place. There has not been a single dollar in the Social Security trust fund for decades. The fund has been broke for decades. What is happening is that far more people will be drawing funds than contributing funds.

That's very close to what Chile did and their system was completely solvent and funded, at least until the socialists came into power a few years ago.

Not really.

I get a nice check each month and it pays the bills. Had they not siphoned off most of the fund to line their pockets it would pay me for life. Ive already gotten out a LOT more than I put in so I guess I cant complain at ahat level, what sucks is that it will run out just as I cant work anymore.

So this is quite literally an "OK, Boomer" moment. You admit to drawing more from SS than you've paid into the fund, despite the fact that a 70-year-old has been paying SS for basically his entire career. So by what fucking magic did your generation expect to keep this farce alive?

Boomers were too selfish with their time to have enough kids to support a pyramid scheme, then they shipped all the good jobs overseas in order to save a few bucks at the Walmart checkout, then they allowed in 30 million illegals who mostly don't pay SS (and the ones that do aren't making enough money to move the needle). And now - big surprise! - the SS find is going to run dry just about the time that the first Gen Xers are due to collect. It's like the Boomers have worked their entire life to paint this masterpiece of fuckery. (Because they have!)

Really looking forward to 2035 when I can get lectured on this tragedy by some late-stage Boomer who's been sucking way more than his "fair share" off the system for 40 years because he spent his life never once saying "no" to food, drink, and drugs and is now an obese puddle of joint replacements and fried grey matter.

I've got plenty of gripes about my own generation - mainly dealing with the fact that we haven't forced our way into leadership roles and swept out the Boomers with last week's trash. Looks like we've left it to Gen Z to do that dirty work, and I suspect it'll get messy.

You still haven't explained how you've paid into SS for what has to be damn near a half-century at this point, managed to take more than you paid in since retiring... what, less than 10 years ago?, and still have the audacity to wonder how SS goes bankrupt in the future.

You guys are damn lucky that "The Day of the Pillow" remains an obscure tongue-in-check joke.

First, I dont owe you any explanation of anything, but if we can keep it as a respectful discussion w/o throwing a bunch of useless insults, Ill discuss it with you,

-First, I hadnt heard of 'The Day of the Pillow', thats funny. I have no kids so they wont get shit...or if they have to clean my nasty bed[pan maybe they will. Frankly I hope I dont reach that point. I have a pill that fixes the problem.

-Second, when you reach the age to start drawing SS, they send you a list of what you've paid in over your earning life. I added it up, and when I compare that to what Ive received over the last 9 years (I took it as early as possible anticipating exactly whats happening) Im in the black. Beyond that, I cant tell you muchexcept that compounded interest accumulates rapidly if not fucked with. So I should be condemned for doing what I had no choice in...SS isnt optional in case you didnt know.

-Third, as to audacity, I did what I was asked to, and had it not been robbed by thieves (just like many retirement plans were for others. Check out what happens to city and state retirement plans when the cities go belly up) it would have been solvent. I will grant you that my generation, like most, tended to put to much 'Trust...Bwahahaha' into our elected representatives.

I think most of the guys here my age will corroborate the above.

To say boomers allowed this while you’ve been allowing this is first off disrespectful to your elders.. secondly get off your ass and go show the boomers how to stop this machine. Or maybe get your head out your ass and realize that those now to old to do can still teach, handle logistics and supply, can facilitate communication and can still get away with stuff like undressing in public and.. do you have any idea how many old men are sitting on unbelievable gear just waiting to find someone worthy of taking a torch from them they carried in their younger days.

A follow up...

  1. finance.zacks.com › city-files-bankruptcyIf a City Files Bankruptcy, Are Retirements Affected ...

Although cities are legally obligated to pay retirees their pensions, in the event of bankruptcy, there is precedent for cutting pension payments in favor of paying out to bondholders, and cities...

This is how I went about my Retirement Plan. Did not just count on S.S., like my folks did.
I used what I could, what I knew, and what I could afford.
At one time in my working career, I could have started a business, but, didn't have enough capitol to get the ball rolling, sooo, had to work the Private Sector after my .Mil days were done.
Invested in a 401 plan, earned a Mil. retirement, and S.S..
And, yes, I put a % of my earnings into my state retirement also.
On top of all that, I still paid my taxes, just like the rest of you, still paying and I'm over 60 years of age.
My combined retirement(s) provide me with a decent living, as long as I don't have anything major happen. I used what was available to me during that time in my life and I'm sure, that others in my age group are paddling around in the same boat.
I don't know what the future of gov. funded retirements/securities will be, but, I do know, everything that the .gov has their hands in, will be F'd up and the way .gov manages anything, it will be at a loss.
I hope I'm dead before we all get that barcode/chip on/in our wrist. Mac

I’m not saying YOU are the sole responsible boomer. But if we can lump all the section 8 people together, we can lump all the boomers together.

boomers: the greediest generation ever.

You think that’s bad? I’m about to make you real fucking mad. Not only do they steal from you through taxes and social security, I will have you know that you are now a terrorist. Yep, I said it. Gonna piss some people off to. Well good, cause it should. But think about it. The US politicians literally just took this country from a beacon of hope to being the worlds largest terrorist org, which many have said for decades, but now it’s clear as day. How you ask? Well, you know those taxes you are forced to pay, yeah well that all went to finance all those weapons of war that they just left to the worlds second largest terrorist group, for free. How does that make you feel? But yeah you won’t have any social security. Unless, the Uber rich that just doubled their insane amounts of money last year start paying more. That’s the only way. Or they make the make the money machine to brrrrrrp....and give it out but then it’s really Monopoly money cause it won’t be worth shit. Welcome aboard comrade.

Funny how politicians can make very simple math seem so complex. It really boils down to the math you learned in first grade. You know 1+1=2 2+2=4 4-4=0.
No matter how they want to spin it when take more out of something than you put in eventually you run out.
Making the math complex works. People are oblivious.

I'm paying federal income tax, (24.3% effective rate last year) state income tax, (5.49%) FICA taxes, (15.3% on my first ~$140k in earned income) an additional 3.8% net investment tax on my investment income in addition to the income tax already paid both by myself and the corporations issuing the dividends, 7.25% sales tax on damn near everything I purchase, ~16% tax on fuel when I fill up my tank, taxes on firearms, plane tickets, booze, tobacco, cars, health products, tires etc. Then there are property taxes, franchise taxes, federal and state unemployment taxes on my employee's payroll and so on.

If you actually calculate the total tax you pay (both in terms of percentage of your income and in nominal dollars) I guarantee it will fuck your day up. Bad. It's all smoke and mirrors to keep the sheeple smiling.

Whenever I'm in a social setting and the issue of taxation comes up, I'll float the idea of a single 30% consumption based flat tax. People usually lose their fuckin' minds. Funny thing is... I can all but guarantee most, if not ALL of these people are paying a hell of a lot more than that and they have no idea.

Those wily sunofabitches made fools of us all. We suck.

I am glad a American is getting our tax money in this day and age when it could have been spent on 1 more Blackhawk for a tolly bon or given to another illegal.

And have you ever stopped to think when you talk about the greatest generation and all they did for America and how that generation gets all the credit? Yes is was our young. But who was leading them, training them, and getting them to the fight supplied as needed? The old

Why are we not mad at the thief that took our money?

And our friends to the south are making significantly more than any of us. Why? Because they’ve mastered how to take advantage of the system for all it’s worth while paying absolutely nothing into it.

I will throw in that currently Social Security tax is 6.2% on the person, and an additional 6.2% on their employer, for a total of 12.4 percent.
If most people threw 12.4 percent into an IRA or a 401K, and compounded it over their working life, they would have a decent retirement. So the whole "the boomers didn't contribute enough" is a bit dishonest.

What happened to the money? Well Congress (on paper) were not allowed to touch the fund (which was quite flush at the time), so they passed legislation that the fund could be used to buy US Government Bonds, those proceeds from the purchase of the Bonds got tossed in the "general fund", which could be spent by congress. Keep in mind that when the Government says "Social Security is out of money", they mean the part which was NOT used to buy bonds. The dirty part of it all is, the fund would be flush IF the government simply HONORED the bonds it sold to the fund. i.e. The piper has played, and needs to be paid. Those bonds should be honored by the Government, and paid back. The money we paid into Social Security was not intended as a "Gift" to the Federal Government. It was meant to be for our retirement.

Many of the Boomers had large families (I had 6 kids), as such I had to pay to raise 6 kids. I did my part to keep the SS Scheme running. Younger generations are too lazy to do the same. They need that new flat screen TV, the better car, the great new Tattoo Sleeve. They don't want to waste their money on being parents... that sounds too much like *work* to them.

And our friends to the south are making significantly more than any of us. Why? Because they’ve mastered how to take advantage of the system for all it’s worth while paying absolutely nothing into it.
Our “undocumented” friends to the south might be able to piece together a decent livelihood doing odd jobs as a handyman or laborer, but they’re not crushing it. I suppose there are exceptions to every rule..:

They can’t take credit card payments without a merchant services provider that issues 1099Ks, they can’t do work for any legitimate business without getting issued 1099NECs, they can’t take out loans, get a mortgage or raise capital other than through friends and family. They’re at a serious disadvantage across the board. No established business here in NC will touch illegals based on the workers comp costs and mandatory 4% withholding on contractor payments alone. They’re mostly working for fly by night landscapers and subs in the construction industry that don’t last long doing what they’re doing.

It only seems like they’re doing OK because they live 14 to an apartment and have virtually zero cost of living.

Seriously though, if ya wanna know the real deal with illegals why don’t you ask some of the boomers that had all their jobs taken by illegals.
I grew up doing construction. Then went to fight for my country on sand far away. Then upon return was to white to get a job on a construction site in my native state of Texas.

Retired now but as a stonemasonry contractor, the last few years before I retired it got tough because the Hispanics, especially the Bolivians, worked for a lot less...and some did excellent work for a lot less. As you suggested, drive by their trailer and see 16 guys living there.

Whhaaat?

BOOMERS voted for the politicians that raided social security. BOOMERS reaped the benefits of the fiscal policy implemented by the politicians they voted for. BOOMERS certainly played their part in fucking things up and it's about time BOOMERS man up and deal with at least some of the consequences of their generation's actions.

Boomers introduced widespread consumer debt, handed off our manufacturing sector to China in exchange for cheap toasters and televisions, ushered in the age of rampant divorce and the destruction of the nuclear family and sent government spending through the roof. The boomers also raised millennials and yet never miss an opportunity to shit on them like you just did. Can we at least agree that boomers were the worst parents in history then?

At the end of the day, the bottom line is that boomers consumed far more than they produced. It's pretty cut and dry. Do you honestly feel like boomers set future generations up for success?

I cap out social security every year and have zero expectation of ever seeing a dime of that money. The hell with your cost of living increase.
So we’re do I sign up?
Seriously though, if ya wanna know the real deal with illegals why don’t you ask some of the boomers that had all their jobs taken by illegals.
I grew up doing construction. Then went to fight for my country on sand far away. Then upon return was to white to get a job on a construction site in my native state of Texas.

I bailed on my first business because I couldn't compete with illegals too. I was in the auto glass business. I went back to school, paid my dues and started a new business in my current field. My income has increased about five fold too.

God bless America, am I right?

And when the chai knees have your current field all sewn up?

my sister was a die hard liberal, a bonafide save the whales, boycott coors type...
she got a job working for the welfare department in riverside, hoping to help...

she quit because she saw so much fraud and waste that she started to hate poor people.
Riverside, huh? Yep, shithole. Worked/lived there for almost 10 years. Rough neighborhoods throughout. Little Casablanca being one. Mac

Absolutely this^^^^! Mac(y)(y)

she actually lived up on the mountain (big bear) and drove down to work.

Switch gears and do it again?
Yea buddy.. you gotta keep going. I’m getting tired of starting over and am figuratively and literally digging in and getting back to the land. I am blessed to have this option as I am able bodied and minded but unable to deal with all this paradoxical double speak political anti American bs while being told my family of 5 don’t even have a right to arm them self’s in America by a judge?? I will not be found with my pants down. Take care

CPA firm, hence the detailed posts regarding taxes... primarily GP real estate holding entities funded by passive investors and corporate commercial construction companies.

I'm mulling over the idea of offering partnership interest to two of my employees so I can pursue other endeavors. It might be a little premature though. As it stands right now I'm leaning towards bonding since there's so much overlap with what I'm doing now.

In my neck of the woods, SAS is where the money is. I just don't know if I have it in me to start over from scratch again with four kids and a stay at home wife.
