Maggie’s fun physics/engineering game

Re: fun physics/engineering game

I got to the slingshot to mars thing and was just stumped on how to generate enough power to sling the thing.

so far, Ive been doing best with a track vehicle like concept.

ahhh, all the way around the ball and it wont fall, duh. It's so obvious I can't fathom how I didnt think of that. i was looking at how to sling it but never thought to just form a gear of sorts.

thanks!

Re: fun physics/engineering game

don't even let me near this...this game circled around my office during my internship a couple of years ago and everyone was addicted to it. I finally beat the whole thing after I went back to school, and vowed never to open it again

Re: fun physics/engineering game

idaho...i made a track vehicle of sorts, but used the yellow balls with just a stick connecting them, (not acutal tracks, just looks like a damn tank) with the pink ball in the front as a "scoop" triangulated in place, with a stick as a wedge to help all the balls go over my vehicle.
edit
three tiers high, and i used the entire length of the work area to make my "horsepower".
Clear as mud?
