PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (AP) — Bob Fernandez thought he'd go dancing and see the world when he joined the U.S. Navy as a 17-year-old high school student in August 1941.
Four months later he found himself shaking from explosions and passing ammunition to artillery crews so his ship's guns could return fire on Japanese planes bombing Pearl Harbor, a Navy base in Hawaii.
“When those things go off like that, we didn’t know what’s what,” said Fernandez, who is now 100. “We didn’t even know we were in a war.”
Two survivors of the bombing — each 100 or older — are planning to return to Pearl Harbor on Saturday to observe the 83rd anniversary of the attack that thrust the U.S. into World War II. They will join active-duty troops, veterans and members of the public for a remembrance ceremony hosted by the Navy and the National Park Service.

Well OCD won. I ordered a Kinet-Tech slide in black.

I didn’t want all of the crazy cuts and holes some folks like, more factory G5 look seems right to my mind. These have a good reputation.
I was looking at them all last night, there's a dizzying assortment of them out there. Most of them UUuuugly. Most of them swiss-cheesed dust collectors. I also found it funny how many of them are asking nearly as much, if not more than a new Glock costs.

You are right about cost. Some of the more well known brands are $500 plus for a slide.

These were on sale or I would have probably waited.

Bike is ready to go too.

Helmet and such will be here Tuesday.

Grandkids are so much fun 🤩

Very nice. Just be careful with the training wheels. I think they are a good start for a VERY short period of time, and on flat pavement/gravel or a flat yard. Just long enough until they learn how to slowly roll the throttle.

But on uneven ground and when they pick up any speed at all, they make it very hard to turn because you can't lean the bike properly.
