At what age did we grow out of it being fun?
I was helping the neighbor repair something and his kids were playing in the rain. He said that his wife was going to have a fit when she got home but she will get over it.

My brother invited us over for dinner, and as we were sitting on his deck having a beer I noticed the boy had found the trench he was digging for his downspout drain...

2.5 bar... That thing is making some power.

And its so humid in the south, on some days/nights, you don't even need water injection. The air has all the anti knock properties in it.
Merc diesels are amazing. The 606 has the benefit of being older so there has been more time dedicated to its performance upgrades but the common rail engines, 613 & 648, are gaining momentum and are very promising as well

That's cool.

Cool because that is what kids should be doing. Not slaved to an electronic device.

I envy that little boy. He's not worried about the world's politics, war, taxes, a paycheck or relationships.
Don't grow up! It's a trap!

She has a degree in economics from Boston University. What her sheepskin doesn't tell you is the kind of economics she studied. She studied communist economics, or command economics. That is why she seems so stupid and doesn't understand how capitalism works.

didn't know about those. 🤘
The Europes got a V8 cdi engine too, om628 which evolved into om629. They are pretty rare because of the EU tax/insurance laws on engine size so there’s not a ton of performance parts. They are amazing though and I’d love to import one

Besides SE Asia and sometimes Arkansas , the most miserable heat and humidity I’ve felt was either In Southern Louisiana or Corpus Christi Texas ? 🥵
I have been all over South America and have stood on the equator but the most miserable humidity was Pensacola FL 🥵

I went to Navy boot camp in Orlando June-August ‘71. Our Company Commander was going through a bad divorce ( we found out later) , and his sadistic side came out big time. Most CC’s turned things over to underlings and went home … he lived in the barracks, seldom left. He took his anger out on us.
He had us on the grinder ALL the time. It would rain 5 times a day for 20 minutes , then the sun came out and the grinder looked like it was smoking. Push-ups were his favorite punishment/exercise. Everyone’s hands were blistered bad. Effin miserable.
So I guess I can rate the humidity in Orlando right up with anywhere else I’ve been. 🥵

I have been chasing an intermittent short in the electric brakes on one of my trailers. Sometimes it’s fine, sometimes it shows a “SH” code on the controller and brakes don’t actuate.

3 days I have been looking for it. I fixed several other little things I found but still had the problem. Started inside the drums. Measured the resistance in the magnets, was fine. Went ahead and packed all 4 bearings while I was in there. Adjusted shoes. Repaired a few places in the wiring I found that I knew wasn’t the problem but for posterity I fixed them.

Found the 7blade connector was a little corroded inside with some rust chunks rattling around in it. Maybe the rust was shorting the brake power, I mean it is on the bottom. Nope 🤨

Finally, I decided to just replace the blue brake wire front to back.

It runs down the driver side and then through the axle to the passenger side. Yep, I found it. Mid way through the axle the wire was melted through and just enough to short intermittently.

Who would think a wire riding in a steel tube protected from anything would short…. I guess when the trailer was manufactured, the wire was probably damaged pulling it through the axle and it took 20 years to finally arc through 🤯

Rules…

The grandson got the idea (from me 😂) that real country boys get mud on their bare feet periodically. Wife wasn’t amused.

He came back to play and sing for his momma's 60 birthday last week so I guess we are still enjoying him
