Went to pick up a new lower yesterday.
What do you think? Looks pretty good and operates pretty smooth.

Oh yeah, I did get the new lower also. Aaaaand some ammo. Okay okay a few other things too.
I am an addict. That admission is the first step.
I've been at the first step for a long long time....
If it's a 12-step program?
I'll need to live another 300 years or so for me to get through it.

1) admitting is the first step
2) find someone who's worse
3) show wife or Significant other, "see baby, I'm not THAT bad"
4) make friends with that person
:)
5) remain a poor due to excessive expenditures, but a happy poor

Back in the early 80's I saw the aftermath of a nitrogen cylinder that went on a rampage. Someone didn't put the cap on the tank and it was knocked over by someone. Luckily no one was hurt but the shop suffered major damage.
It was an Article 15 punishment if you did not install the safety cap and chain the cylinder upright in the rack in the Armament Shop in the 226th Maintenance Company at Fort Sill "back in the day". I assume it still is.

I never saw one fall over . . . and we were working with ridiculously high pressures of nitrogen.

Amazingly entertaining podcast here! No matter what spot you select on the timeline below the 3 1/2 hour mark, it's comedy gold! :D

That would be it. Weight is really nice. Grip angle and feel is real nice. Action is smooth and trigger is up there with anything I have shot. Price was good also. I figured that I needed to play with it some and if I don't like it the wife can have it. I think the added weight would be better for her over the polymer guns. If not it'll be for sale.

Looks like a HIPOWER. A cool modernized version, but the lines are similar.

So m113 in a small scale war in a river delta area is a really bad sentence.
M113s are bad news to infantry on the ground in swamps and brush and scrub forests. For some reason everyone thinks they have to stick to roads and they certainly do not. Seeing one crashing through oak trees heading right at you at 30 mph is terrifying.

At my work (hospital) food is moved from main kitchen to where it is served, both main cafeteria and Doc lounge.
One day, walking a back hall by the door that leads to the “kitchen” area of the doc lounge, was a hotel pan like that full of bacon, on the top of a cart.
I grabbed about 8 pieces and proceeded to my meeting, eating bacon.

Now I get grief about “hall bacon”.

My only regret is not snagging more. 🤣

Many years ago stationed on Okinawa I often stopped at the chowhall for breakfast. One morning (think I was a SSgt at the time) I'm moving through the line munching on a slice of bacon when one of the servers tells me it's rude to eat in line. Sure, Gomer, I failed etiquette. A few days later in line, same chowhall, same server, there's a CMSgt behind me munching on a piece of bacon. I asked the sever if he was going to tell him he was being rude. The server looked down at his pan of whatever and the Chief looked at me like, WTF, over? I explained and he laughed.
