I live in Kerrville, and have the blessing of being at the crux of the X for the October 2023 and April 2024 eclipses. Our ham club is doing two different things: We have a 2m ham radio network set up for all the County Rural Fire Departments, for coms and dispatching, in cooperation with the Sheriff's Dept, (due to expected influx of triple our usual population, and potential Cell Phone outages), and propagation studies, with a number of HF radios, all tied in together at our club ham shack. My family is flying in ahead of the rush, doing a bit of Axis hunting, and then sitting in our front yard or at the Club Shack for the event. It will be cool, but not as gushy. And the grand kids have to write science papers for school to get credit for their absence.

do sweat it mate, its not like we dont repeat jokes we've heard a 100 times, its only when the laughter stops that we work out the jokes gotten old. my guess it would be in the uk funnies section, this is the rest of the worlds funny section
Fuck a bunch of Will Gere. Howsomeever: Hunting Grizz for pelts is done in winter. The trapper crawls into the den, and kills the animal right there, face to face. The Character (not Ol Will), probably collected claws from early or late season bears, that he stumbled on raiding his traps. A trapper I knew in Oregon had quite a collection of all sorts of claws. He trapped everywhere, including Alaska. One evening he told a yarn to my kids, about how he'd survive a winter storm by crawling into the den of a hibernating bear, and snuggle up next to it. Crawled into a momma bears den, and pushed a 200 lb cub aside and shared the milk, for almost a week, until the storm passed. Couldn't make himself take a bear after that.
