This is easily the most short-sighted conclusion I have read in a while. The issue doesn't affect anyone "first"; everyone is affected. Some will experience it worse than others, but don't think for one second that the West won't have its share of problems associated with this. The farmers and ranchers here can attest to the price of fertilizer, reduced crop yields and lack of food for livestock that came about when the supply chain got tight not too long ago, and we are still feeling the effects of it. This results in more than just high prices, it results in less food. So, we then get corporations that want us to eat bugs, stop farming so they can use the land and therefore choose what to grow (which is suspiciously similar to state planning via corporatism).Well, The countries that will suffer are the ones that sit around on their asses all day waiting for USAID to drop a bag of wheat on their head.
So whatever happens gets felt there first. And won’t be pretty. But since they’ve had 80 years to learn to set up farms, aquaculture, creative agronomy, but instead spent it on AK-47’s and chopping each other‘s arms off because they were from the wrong tribe. I guess they fucking deserve it? The West is dumped trillions into trying to help out people who won’t be helped
Of course, since half of them are trying to take over Fertile western countries they haven’t destroyed yet it’ll get ugly.
Sirhr
And yeah, I know we also fucked them up a lot with proxy wars, and selling them the weapons. But you know what they’ve had 80 years to recognize that in the guns and butter debate it’s probably better to settle for butter.
It is a bigger topic than "fuck those guys over there". The people everyone wants to shit on as the rednecks of the world actually keep it going. Wake up.
