Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

I’m wondering if the manual safety was on in the AF incident. Cuz if the holster pulled the trigger back enough to disengage the firing pin safety then maybe some slide wiggle could have discharged the weapon.
What is supposedly happening the best anyone can tell, is that some P320s have a lot of slide to frame slop. So, the sear/striker relationship is already fairly skinny and add some debris in the “v” of the FCU or weak spring plus a slide able to move upward a good amount and BANG. The sear walks off the striker.

Some of the over 100 could possibly be cases of accidental trigger press.

Not all 100.

Cases of no conceivable way the trigger was touched by finger or holster have been documented.

You can hold the trigger fully forward, slip a razor blade between the slide and the frame, move the sear and drop the striker. It isn’t hard to imagine the sear simply not being fully engaged with the striker due to debris or a weak spring plus being jostled around by a cop or grunt slipping off.

The striker safeties have been found to be a weak design that don’t work 100% in all guns.

Theoretically, a deeper “fit” of the striker/sear and possibly a positive angle on the surfaces could definitely help at the expense of trigger weight and the length of the trigger pull.

IIRC the Air Force called it a Dining Facility. The difference in names probably has a great influence on the quality of the food served

They did.
We just called it the Chow Hall or Choke and Puke. The cooks got pissed.

Apparently, it's now called the D-Fac.
I suppose that's to make the cookies feel more important.
I dunno.

Check out The Fat Electrician on utube for his take on our lack of economy trucks. I'll add a link later on, if the spirit moves me.

He is good. And yeah, bring these back! I always thought they the Subaru Brat from the ‘80’s was one of the best designs for a little pickup/runabout. Small, 4x4, good mpg. Won’t take a 4x8 plywood…. But good for a lot of stuff.

I miss my 1984 Ford Ranger long bed manual. Pi to engine. 2wd. But what a great little truck!!!

Cheers. Sirhr

Early 90s I had a staff job in Korea. We were a collection of various specialities that oversaw seven sites that would receive different units if the NKs got ambitious. At a staff meeting the commander introduced a female TSgt as the new whatever they were called. I piped up and said, “Oh, you’re responsible for the chow halls, gyms and barracks, right?” In a very indignant tone she replied, “I am responsible for the dining facilities, fitness centers and dormitories.” I asked if we had any frat houses on campus.

Needless to say she did not attend my going away bash.
