yeah. i have read some books or articles by historians that suggest it was largely churchgoing women that went home and convinced their husbands to support the abolition of slavery. hence, even without the right to vote, women contributed greatly to one of the most consequential policy decisions in american history.
unfortunately, most women don't go to church today, and so whatever thoughts they might have are more likely to come from pornhub.
Arches National Park a few days ago. My favorite is dont shit on the floor. Based on the fact that very few people were speaking english.....I guess floor shitting is common.
I killed a rattler on my back patio about a month ago. I hate snakes.We have Timber Rattlesnakes here but I have never seen one on our land. A neighbor up the mountain behind me has killed 2.
I saw an Eastern DB once and wow that thing made my lizard brain stand on endworlds biggest Rattlesnakes.
Saw a Timber in the wild in Wayne Co NC once even though they are not supposedly there.
I never saw a rattler on my trips out west but I sure looked.
I love snakes really. With my almost 6 year old GS here though I won’t tolerate any venomous models.
We used to have a 6’ Black Racer here we called Slim. He was very docile and did the characteristic “head up” moving like a cobra. I picked him up many times to put him out of harms way. Haven’t seen him this summer though.
We have a 4’ Racer around now we call Slim Shady though
Killed one Copperhead here 5 years ago and haven’t seen another.
Saw one Scarlet Kingsnake about 2 years ago, they are very rare to see because they are nocturnal.
I would have let this Copperhead go but he bit my dog Jack and I was pretty upset. Jack lived but the snake was the victim of a farming accident
Cicadas have been active the past week or two at my place. The boys like to go find the empty shells on the trees after school. We went out a little bit ago and actually found one molting! I've never seen that in my 47 years.
And whatever this fella is that was hanging out a couple inches from the freshly hatching cicada. We didn't notice him for the first 10 minutes.
The wilderness trail I use to access my hunting area is infested with rattlesnakes.
I'm really surprised the granola eaters dont get bit more often. The snakes seem to favor the edge of the trails. Once I leave the trail, I rarely see them.

People are generally stupid and want to believe the conspiracy theories... Just to hope they are right.
It does appear that the vaccines had little effect on generally healthy people, but made a difference for the elderly and people with comorbidities (heart, lung, chronic diseases). They're was one interesting study that looked at people that had a specific type of cancer, and that the vaccines may have caused issues when the immune system was fired up... but it was a cancer of the immune system to begin with.

We were clearing some property one summer to build a fence between us and the neighbors. I don't know what the deal was, but we were seeing more copperheads that summer than I'd seen in my life.
We had a miniature black&tan dachshund that was a bad motor scooter (scooter was her name) and she just couldn't help herself. She got popped at least once a week for a month.
She'd come slow walking by on her way back to the house, already swelling up. She'd lay up in her bed and sleep it off and she'd be ready to roll again the next day. That was one tough dog. Had an attitude of a dog 10x her size.
I'm out west and I was under the false impression that copperheads were as bad as rattlesnakes. Friends live near Joshua tree and the Mojave rattler is common.
It's about $6,000 for antivenom if a dog gets bit and it's not a dry bite.
