My wife and I went down to Valley Surplus today in Harrisonburg, orginially to try to find some ALICE stuff but also to get out a little. It didn't take very long for me to find everything I was looking for, a couple canteen pouches, y-straps, and the like and was already to leave except I thought I'd just give it one more pass around the store. As we were walking around both of us overheard this skinny college kid brag to his friends that if he had Legos Star Wars he would stay up all night playing it. We kept on walking by but what we didnt' realize is that so did he and my wife says to me "You know it really takes away from your masculinity when you're in a surplus store talking about a Legos Star Wars game and how it keeps you up at night." As the words were coming out of her mouth he walked by and she just shrugged and I really couldn't be pissed...I mean she had a point. That and I learned to not argue with a pregnant woman in public, it will make a scene no matter how hard you try. I ended up not getting the ALICE stuff I went for but I've been laughing my ass off all day thinking about it, anyway I hope you all enjoyed the story.
FYI, Valley Surplus has some screaming deals on good quality MOLLE stuff...digging around the bins I found a SO Tech 10 rd AI mag shingle for $10. I'm kicking myself for not taking it up to the counter with me.
