Needing to get some ammo loaded for a Garand. I have plenty of H4895 and 178 amax. I've found Garand data for that powder/bullet weight, but some caution about using a bullet over 168. The rifle is 100% as assembled at CMP. I'm thinking about doing a quick workup just looking for pressure and see how ~45gr shoots. Sound safe for a Garand? Thanks.

The old NRA publications listed 30.06 Garand 175 loads with H4895 at 47.0 and suggest start 10% less. I use IMR 4064 with 168 and 175's for the full distance XTC. Master PO's Temple website used to list Garand loads, not sure if it's still there.
