This got delivered today, the new McMillan A-Hole stock. No review or clever comments at this point, just a few pictures to let everyone see the latest from McMillan. I'll try to spend some time behind it this weekend, won't be shooting it, just some dry fire practice. Range trip is likely a week or two away, I'm slammed at work. The stock is beautiful, I like thumbhole/grip stocks like AW, AX and Sentinel. This one feels a little different, I'm not sure if that's good or bad, I've got to spend more time behind it before I give an opinion. A full review will be coming.

Please excuse the high scope mount, the B/A was in an XLR and that height is needed to clear the handguard.

your A-Hole has a nice coloring pattern and I am sure your thorough inspection/review will be in-depth

sorry, I couldn't help it. But, on a serious note I do like the marbling pattern on that stock.

To Dick and the crew at McMillan...if that is <span style="font-style: italic">REALLY</span> the name you guys came up with for this new stock offering, you might want to take a step back and revisit that decision!!!

Let's see... I don't like thumbholes or butt hooks. I don't like the square profile fore-end or the finger grooves. The color is nice though.

Jason could you describe the idea behind the stock's grip area? Just trying to figure out what the indent is for behind the grip as your palm would appear to be setting on the grip itself when firing and that indent would be too far back. Looks kind of like the McHale grip with the top filled in.

They just finished their first production run. Jasonk won this during the facebook trivia giveaway. 24hrcampfire has them as an option so I would guess it is a full go at McMillan.

Thanks to McMillan, I did win this by being lightning fast on McMillan Trivia posted on FB.com, it was amazing how many people could answer the questions in under 2 seconds.....

Rob01, I think I know what you're asking but not 100% sure. I really can't answer at this time since I've only thrown the stock up to my should a few times. I'll try to get some pictures of my hand in the grip to give a better idea how it all fits. I'll also get some pictures of the other side of the stock, there's some other stuff going on over there including some grip area on the butt of the rifle that I'm not sure how I'd utilize it.

Again, at this point, I'm not saying it's good or it's bad.....just wanted to post some pictures for all to enjoy.

I'll bet they designed that feature for getting your thumb through the hole quickly and un obstructed when in a hurry. My biggest hang up with thumb hole stocks is getting my firing hand in position quickly in the heat of the moment....also tough to fire weak hand with a right hand thumb hole.
