Rifle Scopes Gen 1 razor vs dmr 2 pro

Will take a swing due to lack of more qualified responses. Have used a Razor Gen 1 and own a DMR 2 non-pro (amatuer?).

The Razor has noticeably better glass - more pop and color - than the DMR 2. Either is good enough for my use. The Razor I used struggled to resolve rusty steel targets in a shaded treeline, same as my DMR 2. DMR Pro is supposed have better coatings, no personal experience.

DMR 2 turrets always seem to end up .05 mil off the line which is annoying. Not as crispy tactile as the Razor either, but i like the low profile. 34mm probably gives you a few more mounting options, but i'm sure you can find an appropriate solution for the 35mm tube. I've had good experience with Bushnell, and Vortex is the standard for customer service.

Probably comes down to reticle and form factor. The G3 reticle is my favorite flavor of conifer. Maybe a little thick at top magnification, good for me otherwise. Complicated enough to be effective for holdovers, simple enough to be useful when I'm stressed, confused, and in a hurry. I can't call wind down to .1 mil, so why have .2 mil dots cluttering things up. YMMV by a lot.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!

I've used the gen1 razor, and the dmr2i, not the pro. My razor is the 5mil turret, which I really like because the 1/10th spacing is so wide and easy to find/feel. Glass wise was pretty close, but the eyebox seemed tighter on the dmr. I really like the pull to turn windage turret on the DMR over the standard razor windage.

The marks on the turrets on my DMRII were on. Razor has a couple more features for the same money. Both are about the same in FOV. I always found the eye box on the Gen 1 razors to be kind of tight, and didn't notice the same with the DMR/DMRII.

The new DMR2PRO is a huge upgrade in the glass dept. The brightness and clarity is very nice. The Gen1 and 2 RZR is always going to be a solid choice but the PRO version is my go-to. Also, the XRS2 that Bushnell just released last year has served me very well from my 6 creed to my 416 Barrett. We dialed it out to both ends of it's adjustment for K02M and it returns to zero and tracks perfectly

Thanks for all the help l, I currently have a nf nxs 5.5-20x50 in my 308 but have been thinking about trying the bushy or vortex on my 260

DMR II pro has the same ED prime glass as the XRS II both from LOW just like the ATACR and Gen II razor and thus more comparable to those two than the Gen I Razor. Of the two i'd go DMR II pro every day of the week and twice on Sunday. DMR II pro and the Leupold Mk5 are probably the best glass under $2000 on the market right now. I'd throw the Cronus in there as a close second but just not that trust worthy of athlon because they're so new and i don't know that many running them.
