XL = Extra Lights
Its a GEN II with more parts of the reticle lit up when the illumination is turned on. Otherwise its a GEN II
XR = Extra Reticle more reticle to look at.

I was under the impression that XR was the "Extended Range"; but what the f^$# do I know!

It could be, but that is how I remember it, I never said what I wrote was right or from Premier... just how to tell them apart.
