Hello all I am new to this forum and new to long range shooting. I am an infantry officer in the Marine Corps and a die hard bowhunter and love shooting rifles, mainly close range or rimfires. I have limited knowledge on long range shooting to include commercially available optics. I am about to order a Sig SSG3000 and i am debating what glass I should get. The purpose of the rifle will be recreational shooting and hunting. I will not be shooting farther than 600M as I do not have a range that supports anything farther than that. The glass I am looking at is Burris C4 plus 4-16 or the Vortex hs 4-16. I was wondering if anyone on here as any experience with these optics as I have never owned or used a Vortex scope but own 1 Burris and i am very happy with it.
No i cannot afford a Nightforce or a $2000 Leupold. I want to keep the scope at about $500 give or take a little wiggle room. I do have the Mil discount with leupold but im not convinced they are the best for what i can afford.
Thanks in advance for all of your opinions
Matt
