Glock 23, Sig 938, Kimber 45 Raptor

Get yourself a G19......friends dont let friends carry .40SW

honestly the Shield is a half decent gun if you are looking for something slimmer

My buddy had to send his sig p365 back x2 and it still has issues.

If you can stomach it, the G43 is working well for me.

Or a good revolver. I have a lot of rounds through my LCR and really like it. It is light and has a better trigger than the lightweight S&W options.

Kimber Raptor FTW.

As the 1911 guy I always say "Go full size or go home".

If you are looking for serious concealed carry though, I would recommend a good snubby revolver in .38/.357. It is a matter of personal opinion but I never really had a fondness for mouse-size semiautos. Snubnose wheelguns, however still retain a lot of the old school tough guy detective/Stetson-wearing gangster persona with them.

NOT the Kimber.

I love a 1911. Not so much for carry. I have 1 Kimber for sentimental value (belonged to a close friend who passed). Wouldnt trust my life to one unless you replaced a few parts.

Not their current stuff. I have a Gen I, all-steel. Sad that quality declined with popularity, but they chased their price point market.

Thank you for that counterpoint, "Tracer Bullet."

No, I'm not being quite complimentary here.

Good point Veer. Pretty sure they didnt make the Raptor back then.

If I found a Gen 1 I would buy it.

Also, never handled or shot the 938.

Kimber modern production = GOTM for the just-out-of-the-trailer-park community. Some of their stuff reminds me of fantasy swords. Clarence says that every time a guy dumps a Kimber and gets an SA TRP or a Dan Wesson, a bell rings.

I pocket carry a Walther PPS M2 all the time. Loose cargo pants with deep pockets. PPS with shortest mag front right pocket, 2 extra mags left cargo pockets. Not a fast draw proposition by any means and will not work with your wardrobe of skinny jeans.

The method works best for me with these.

I can say the XDs in our stable has been through over 5000 rounds without a hiccup. I just replaced the springs as a line item maintenance considering it is carried daily.....good choice!

As for current production kimber, I've got nearly 2000 rds. through a micro 9 raptor with no issues(true pocket sized carry) and Around 9k rounds through a crimson carry pro with no problems. To be fair, the Crimson carry has had cylindernslide springs put on it and a wilson combat mainspring housing.
