Suppressors Glock 32 night site install?

Re: Glock 32 night site install?

The factory rear plastic sight can easily be driven out. The front sight is also easily removed. Most decent front sights have a low profile nut that holds them on. The only challenge to the whole thing is installing the rear sight. Some say they've had good luck using a brass punch or wood dowel to drive the new sight in. I boogered up a nice rear sight trying to do it that way once. I bought a sight pusher after that one, which makes the job simple. Downside to buying the tool is they are a bit pricey if you're only going to use it once or twice.

Hope this helps.

Re: Glock 32 night site install?

It's really easy. The factory Glock front sight is staked in. There is a little plastic post that protrudes from the bottom of the sight through a hole in the slide - you can see it on the underside of the slide. The post is split in two and a little pin is wedged in between the two halves to keep them spread apart and tight in the hole. Knock the pin out from underneath with a punch or similar and the front sight can be easily removed. Aftermarket sights will generally have a threaded post to go through the hole and than a nut that will screw on the inside of the slide to hold it on. Use some loctite on the threads and you're done.

For the rear sight, clamp the slide in a vise so it is good and solid. Tap the slide out from one side to the other with a nylon punch and a small hammer. Be careful not to hit the slide with the hammer. Tap the new one in the same way and you are done. Some sights will have allen-head set screws to lock in in place left-to-right. I use loctite in the dovetail either way to hold it better. Wipe off excess and let it dry. Done!

I've done it on a bunch of Glock's and have never had a single problem. You can do it really carefully and still be done in 20 minutes or so. Hope this makes sense.

Good luck,
Erik

Re: Glock 32 night site install?

I am in the market for a sight tool also and I found a guy over on Glock Talk forum that makes one that will do the straight and slanted side sights and is supposed to be an improvement over the commercial ones. I havent contacted him about one yet but I dont imagine he would have a problem making one for none GT forum member. The going price in that forum seems to be $65.00 which is cheaper that the other tools Ive found and this one looks to be built like a tank. Theres a couple different posts on it, Ill try to post the links.

He goes by BigMoneyGrip and is in Mississippi. I'm a novice on working on glocks but this is the tool Im gonna get cause it looks like he took all of the good things about the other tools and put them into one. Its cheaper and looks to be built better to.

..

I wrote up a piece on suppressor HIGH sights here a while back but the photos are gone. Note: the standard GLOCK tool will not do suppressor high sights.
