Is it possible to have a 9mm can that is light enough for a Glock 34 to cycle without a booster? I'm building one myself and will probably go ahead and get a booster. Either the Gemtech or Liberty because they both will work/thread into the can that is 1.375"x 6". Total weight without the booster is around 10 ounces.

Yes, the military had an all Ti can for there Glocks which had no booster. TI can was designed for glock 26's Etc. You may be a to find a version #1 one still, they make a nwe Abraxas version # 2 with a LID/ Booster which is bigger & heavier. AWC Abraxas 9MM Titanium

The ABRAXAS™ family of suppressors is the most successful military issue 9mm pistol suppressor ever. The AWC Titanium Abraxas™ was built under contract for the U.S. Army for use on the Glock 26 & Glock 19. The stainless steel version was contracted by the U.S. Air Force for issue to its special warfare operators, and the early Warp 6 Variant was specified for use with the U.S. Navy.

The AWC Titanium Abraxas™ suppressor was designed to meet specific requirements.
  • The suppressor should be compact and light weight
  • Dimensions should preferably be similar in bulk to the slide assembly of the pistol
  • The construction should be 100% corrosion resistant & nonmagnetic Titanium
  • No internal mesh packing or accuracy degrading wipes used
  • Sound reduction efficiency should be significantly better than the “Hush Puppy” type suppressor
  • Accuracy should be considerably better than the “wiped” Hush Puppy suppressor.
The Titanium Abraxas exceeds all of these objectives. It is an exceedingly effective 9mm pistol suppressor in a package that is smaller than most conventional .22 caliber devices. The Titanium Abraxas™ is highly compatible with the Beretta M9/92FS, Taurus PT92, complete family of Glock & Sig pistols, as well as other select 9mm pistols. The AWC Titanium Abraxas™ has a significant reduction in weight compared to the stainless steel version. The majority of silencer manufactures sacrifice longevity by using Aluminum and deem that as adequate. But then, they do not service the same clientele as AWC.

AbraxasTM is the most practical and effective sound suppressor available to date for the 9mm semi auto pistol. Its low profile design allows for the use of normal factory installed sights. Constructed of 100% titanium, this unit does not utilize any mesh packing material or bore obstructing "wipes". The sound reduction performance of this system is nothing short of excellent. The muzzle flash signature of the weapon is also completely eliminated by the advanced baffle design of this suppressor, making this device a very effective tool for tactical users. All maintenance requirements can be fulfilled without disassembly. Now available for most .40 cal. pistols

Overall Length: 5.7 in.

I have had this suppressor for several years. It is a bit specialized as follows. Uses wet technology (grease) to increase suppression. Grease is good for about a maginzine (10 shots)from Glock 26. Functions perfectly on the 26 and factory sites are useable. Very light weight. Takes a couple of minutes to reload with grease. If you are looking for a full auto 4000 round a second suppressor this is not it! If you are looking for a soild sound reduction suppressor slightly large in diameter than your big thumb and will eaisly fi in a pants or coat pocket then this is it. Remember it was designed for stealth operations, easy use and portability.

My suppressor is actually 1.325" x 8" and is 9.6 ounces. 1/2-28 direct thread. But I can take the direct thread adapter off and thread either a Liberty booster or a Gemtech LID booster directly to the can. Of course I would prefer to not have to add a booster because that's more weight added but I can always add it if necessary. I have a Storm Lake barrel on the way for my Glock 34 gen 4. I'm sure full power ammo will cycle but not sure about subsonic.
