I have the itch for a subcompact 9mm, and am seeking info on my pistols I have narrowed down.

I have been eyeing the Glock 43 and S&W Shield; both in 9mm. Has anyone gotten hands on both? Or which of the two would be your pick for a small CC pistol?

The other wild hair idea may even be a small 38/357 wheelgun, and how that would fair against the G43 and Shield.

    Thoughts?

I own a pps m2, it shoots well for this size range. Although I am starting to consider a p320 subcompact as it is very close in size but twice the rounds ( but width is still noticeable). I generally carry a 229 but the pps is good for shorts and a t shirt. When that is too big go with a p238.

I like the 43. Im a scrawny punk so i will be looking into one shortly for warm weather carry
I shot the 42 and find the 43 much easier to shoot.

I have tried the S&W and probably didnt shoot enough to really tell.

both are fine choices.....and i really dont think youre going to notices much of a difference between the two.

personally i like glock.....buuuuuut there is a really good deal on shields right now, you can pick them up new for under $300 after rebate.

I have a 43, which I liked because it was almost exactly the same as my duty Glock 23 and my off-duty carry Glock 27. That said, the 43 sits in a drawer and I still carry the 27 everywhere in retirement. I just like the subcompact .40.

But as Cameron says, the Shield is pretty hard to beat price-wise right now. I've only put a handful of rounds through a shield trying one out. Seemed fine. Just shot Glocks for so long that I bought the 43 when they came out... because they came out.

    Cheers,

    Sirhr
