    Annual Cape trip.

Family still asleep, best time of day. My breakfast before they wake up....

Time and the sun is still not up....

It's late in the season, my water tower sunhenge shows the sun is significantly south of where it was from its nadir north of the tower a few weeks ago......

Supposedly about to move into Spring down here but apart from sunrise / sunset times the weather has yet to show signs of improving.

Australia's seasons are at opposite times to those in the northern hemisphere. December to February is summer; March to May is autumn; June to August is winter; and September to November is spring.

    Hotel aint too shabby....

Koi pond out back. How do you clean these for the grill?

Our Patio. My seat is on the right next to our right side neighbor....

I was just listening to "Pony Tail" neighbor talk heatedly with wife "Its a pandemic. Every scientist everywhere in the world is saying the same thing. You and my brother are the only ones......."

Im thinking his brother is fucking his wife. I might send my 13yo son over to fuck her. If he early loads all over the rug Im thinking it will be better than she is getting from her "husband?".

They have some sort of Beagle/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix dog. Kind of nice but barky. When my son came back to the room the dog got all defensive with him. Fur on his back was all raised but it has the bark of a Beagle. Good looking dog, Im thinking he is the alpha male of the family.

Just cracked the Basil Haydens buy from the local package store. Not bad. Reminds me of Scottish whiskey tasting a lot of wood.

    Typical Family luggage....

    Standard Dad luggage.....

Been shitting on my wife and kids for the passed few days because my wife thinks its her responsibility to pack for the 12 and 13 year old kids.

Complaining about how I havent done anything and she has had to make sure the kids are packed while my response has been "Fuck them. Let them pack themselves and they will learn never to forget important shit. Just give them a list and if they fuck it up screw 'em."

Yesterday we got down here and my daughter discovered that she didnt pack the charger for her IPad to play RoBlox. That gave me a little joy as she cried to go home to get the charger.

Karma struck me this morning when I realized I forgot to pack my bathing suits.

Good thing is Dads have purchase power and I can overcome this little lifes lesson.

    @Sean the Nailer

The Costco bag is the common family shoe bag. All the hikers, Keenes, dinner shoes that were not worn on teh actual trip go in there. Dads luggae includes the two packs. One stuffed with clothes from LBT thats actually too big to be used as anything other than luggage.

The other is a Tactical Tailor that would be my shit has hit the fan bag filled with all lifes essentials, especially sunscreen down here, and adorned with enough supplemental bags to make it look like it is being attacked by wood ticks.

These dunes were not like this last year.

My wife like the Morris Island Beach because it was kind of like a "Pond"......

Great White Sharks never go in a pond....

Counterman told me they just got 100 in from an estate in NH. Ill have to head back there. Beach camo.

Looks like you're having some fun! When the northerlies in the fall come they would have to update every week. What you cannot see is outermost harbor channel the red can is on the sand dry every low tide now.

Shark central today.......Nauset Beach.....All we saw was seals. water was fantastic. North atlantic is clear as can be save a hatch of mussels that was washing in on the break.

Kids were un-nerved because the water was full of these glassine "eggs" that I assumed to be fish eggs.

Apparently Googlefoo says they are salps...

I still swam amongst them. Sharks are scarier.....

Last night wife crushed my high by wanting to go to P-Town. I dont mind P-Town so much. Figured we would get the kids pizza and I could buy some booze.

Thing is we brought one of my daughters friend and her father with. My kids have their own food issues than we added a third. If two could eat pizza the third couldnt. If one would eat chicken schwarma the other two wouldnt. Walked through three restaurants and than I got BS and said no more. My plan was a BBQ on our back deck but by than it was 2000 and I was like fuck it.

Today wife, daughter and MIL did their own thing while me and son did our own thing.

    First stop local airport...

Than we went to the local sport shop that just got the gun consignment in. Really good collection of guns, nothing that caught my eye though. Quick trip to local store and got some steaks and quahogs for the grill.

Son and I than went to Pleasant Bay Community Boating....

and rented a Sailfish. Only got the last hour of the day but we had a good ride.

Last time I sailed I was about his age. It was on a Sailfish. I remember my friends Dad asking "Who of you knows how to sail?" and I said I did.

I didnt, I still dont......but if I had a past life it was sailing because I think I do know how to.

Im the most dangerous thing on the water....no experience but thinks he knows what he is doing.

Big ass Bay. Figured we would tac upwind away from moored boats, cut upwind away from the rental yard than stay upwind so that if we got in trouble the wind would be at our advantage to ride back.

    Good time.

We capsized once, son thought that was the best. A moment of terror for me thinking Id have to explain to my wife why we were stuck in the middle of Pleasant Bay but my brain said just get to the centerboard and start climbing it to right the boat. Son got in first and of course we had full wind with me hanging on the side. Got us pointed to "luff the sail" and straightened everything before we got going again.

Son had a great time. Going to do more of that next year.

Those Go-carts have been a mainstay since I was about 7 and were for my father as well. They use to have lines all night when I was young. But late was 20:00 back then. Looks like you had a great trip. If the letters of that shop are similar to what a Sergeant is called he has alot of consignment stuff through others and can source almost anything if you ask.

I think shop was Chatham Outdoors.

If you are driving south on 28 its on the left across from a liquor store/coffee shop in a small strip mall, Just North of the Shark Center.

Lots of nice fishing gear in addition to the well stocked gun side of the shop.
