Last night wife crushed my high by wanting to go to P-Town. I dont mind P-Town so much. Figured we would get the kids pizza and I could buy some booze.
Thing is we brought one of my daughters friend and her father with. My kids have their own food issues than we added a third. If two could eat pizza the third couldnt. If one would eat chicken schwarma the other two wouldnt. Walked through three restaurants and than I got BS and said no more. My plan was a BBQ on our back deck but by than it was 2000 and I was like fuck it.
Today wife, daughter and MIL did their own thing while me and son did our own thing.
First stop local airport...
Than we went to the local sport shop that just got the gun consignment in. Really good collection of guns, nothing that caught my eye though. Quick trip to local store and got some steaks and quahogs for the grill.
Son and I than went to Pleasant Bay Community Boating....
Pleasant Bay Community Boating, in Cape Cod, Massachusetts offers an easy way to enjoy sailing, canoeing, kayaking or enjoy a stay at one of our cottages.
pbcb.cc
and rented a Sailfish. Only got the last hour of the day but we had a good ride.
Last time I sailed I was about his age. It was on a Sailfish. I remember my friends Dad asking "Who of you knows how to sail?" and I said I did.
I didnt, I still dont......but if I had a past life it was sailing because I think I do know how to.
Im the most dangerous thing on the water....no experience but thinks he knows what he is doing.
Big ass Bay. Figured we would tac upwind away from moored boats, cut upwind away from the rental yard than stay upwind so that if we got in trouble the wind would be at our advantage to ride back.
Good time.
We capsized once, son thought that was the best. A moment of terror for me thinking Id have to explain to my wife why we were stuck in the middle of Pleasant Bay but my brain said just get to the centerboard and start climbing it to right the boat. Son got in first and of course we had full wind with me hanging on the side. Got us pointed to "luff the sail" and straightened everything before we got going again.
Son had a great time. Going to do more of that next year.
