Anyone know current price and availability I am having a hard time finding them locally.

They are very hard to find. The rifles occasionally pop up but its not that common. I got mine new for around $1100.

i ordered mine on monday night.

i found it on gunbroker, called to make sure it was still available. he said he had 20 of them.

mine is a 20"er though. it came out to be $1091 shipped.

it should be here by friday.

I bought mine off Gunbroker new from a business in NY. I think it was called Franks guns or something. I had just under a $1000 in each including shipping. I own a .223 and a .308 in the 5r mil-spec. Great gun!

Got my 24" 5R from Buds for $1001 in Dec 2011. I have heard good things about Frank's Guns as another source.
