Do I have to buy and use a an action with a 308 bolt for a m40A5 build? Or will any 30 caliber action and bolt (3006) work as long as the chamber is cut for it? NEW TO THIS hope this is not a dumb question!

30-06 and 308 use the same bolt face (0.470") but you also need to think of action length. 308 is generally a short action, and 30-06 a long action.
