Hi, all.

As the title states, just looking for a good gunsmith that can do a quick, clean EFR bedding job. I have a Manners stock, already inlet for the EFR, and the Badger EFR itself. Just need someone that can put bed B to A.

Anyone know of a professional smith that is not too overloaded with work that can do this?

Thanks, all.

Ken

Is the rifle bedded? Mini chassis? What contour is the barrel?

Hmm, details would help, I guess. The stock is a T6A for a R700 SA with a DBM mini chassis. It's inlet for a M24/M40A1/A3 barrel contour, and the barreled action going on there would have the same barrel contour.

From what I understand, the Badger EFR interior dimensions should be wide enough where such a barrel contour would fit through fine if the EFR diameter was bedded centered to the action. Trying to avoid having to send in a barreled action along with the stock and EFR to get bedded if I can.

Thanks.

Badger can do it usually in one to two weeks three at the most. They will want the rifle though so they can line the rail on the action up with the efr rail. Very reasonable on price as well.

Not true.
Assuming the barreled action is straight (usually a good assumption), it can be done consistently with very good results, especially if the action is round and not a Badger/AI/XL, etc.

I wouldnt want to try it that way. To many variables for me. How straight is the barrel?, how straight is the barrel channel inlet?, is the EFR inlet centered off the barrel channel?, is the mini chassis bedded straight?, will the barrel channel need inletted for clearance? Will the barrel have enough clearance in the EFR?

It can be done but, Id like to have the barreled action in hand. Esp with a M40 barrel

^^^ yeah that will work!

So... does that mean one of you guys can/will do it (bed the EFR to the stock without me sending in the barreled action)? SAC? Terry at KMW?

By the way, the barreled action will be coming from a GAP built M40A3, so it's pretty much guaranteed to be straight and true.
