Google to start blocking Gun ads.

Google is not the only search provider out there. They are a publicly held enterprise doing business in the private sector.
They can block whatever they want, as long as they don't violate anyone's rights.

The point here is.....they are blocking "ads" seriously who even fucking clicks on their ads? They are not censoring search results, just who can buy ad space on their network.

you're right and I get that but lets face it, Google gets the Lion's share of the search business. I guess I just don't like the idea of them pulling shit like this.

It is regularly established that google searches about means and methods of murdering and maiming are conducted prior to the offense. Of those it would be interesting to know the percentage that would never have happened but for the free flow of information and the affirmation provided by reading of the accomplishments of others. Then there are those motivated by the notoriety they expect and how google searches positively contribute.

Of course they could also be reminded that B757s and B767s like their corporate aircraft have also been used to kill domestically.

Its not just google, there are other companies that do the same thing. Wells Fargo Bank will block your transaction if you purchase something they do not approve of, found out the hard way on that one.

So yall think that some advertising is the serious issue...?

Google to be sued over 'snooping'
The US Supreme Court has rejected Google's appeal to dismiss legal action accusing it of breaking privacy laws.

In 2010 Google admitted accidentally collecting personal data from unencrypted wi-fi networks while building its Street View program.

Its cars collected emails, usernames and passwords between 2008 and 2010.

According to USA Today, Google has been the subject of nearly a dozen civil actions. And those suing the search giant are now "pressing forward".

"In 2011, those lawsuits were combined in one class action in federal court in San Francisco," it said.

Google is accused of breaking the US Wiretap Act, which "regulates the collection of the content of wire and electronic communications" and restricts unauthorised interception.

The BBC understands Google argued the information collected fell under an "accessible to the public exception" clause, which permits the interception of electronic communication if it is readily accessible to the general public.

In an official blog post, the company said: "We want to delete this data as soon as possible, and are currently reaching out to regulators in the relevant countries about how to quickly dispose of it."

Google has already agreed to pay $7m (£4,1m) to settle an investigation into the matter, "involving 38 US states and the District of Columbia", according to a report from Reuters news agency.
BBC News - Google to be sued over 'snooping'

Google is just another liberal reactive organization that is "pro-choice" for everything but my choice to have guns - what hypocrites.

Let us know which of these Google products you plan to stop using: Google Search, Gmail, YouTube, Google Chrome, Google Maps, Google Android OS, Google Images, Blogger, Google Translate, Picasa, etc.

Better stop using them right now, so you don't appear to be a hypocrite.

In related news, I don't care that they're not going to advertise for the firearm industry because I don't click on those ads to buy anything.

ALERT!!!!!!!!! Never use search engines that track cookies or IP addresses!!!! Use a third party search engine at all times, that do the search through Google for you!!! It protects your personal information!!! Also, use email through providers like this!! Providers like Goggle save every bit of content related to your searches and email!!! FACT!!!!! IF THIS BOTHERS YOU, THE SOLUTION IS SIMPLE, USE """StartPage.Com,,,,,, I repeat!!! StartPage.Com, for all your email and searching needs!!! This great search engine sends your search info to Netherlands, out of reach of Uncle Sam and the NSA.. The search is then made from their location... Hope that helps some.

not to get off topic, but there is a really good documentary on Netflix right now called "Terms and conditions may apply" it's all about how you HAVE to except the T&C before you're allowed to use service, via it google, iTunes....whatever. The documentary goes to show just how much info they actually keep and track. pretty crazy.

Yep, people never get into reading that small print at the bottom of the page. Their is Billions of dollars in Data Mining!!! These entities keep all this data because it's very profitable. It's just as important if not more than your credit history or criminal record. Using computer based algorithms and your search info from your life, they can tell what you going to do before you do it! It's no different than a computer that plays chess! It will know your move before you do...
