I just got an itch to put a suppressor on my model 700 vls. i hunt this rifle every year, and in texas hunting with a suppressor is illegal. i have seen yhm has a QD mount, my question is how hard is it to just take the suppressor off and switch to a muzzle brake when not wanting to use it? thanks

Personally if I had to be able to take a can on and off and use it for hunting purposes I would not want a QD mount. I would want a screw on.
The reasoning behind it is that you want to want to put the QD mount on as tight as possible so it doesnt move. If you put it on to where you can easilly take it on and off then there could be room for your can to move and cause baffle strikes.
If you screw it on and the can indexs on the shoulder then the likely hood of the can loosening when screwed directly to the barrel.
By running a loose QD and if the can loosens up on the QD it makes 2 points for a problem ..... threaded directly on there is only one spot for problems.

i do it all the time......on all my rifles....
BTW its only game animals that its illegal to hunt w/a suppressor...you are free to go reduce the pig population suppressed, varmints and non-native fenced
