Greetings...Can someone school me on the M24 FH?

Hey all...New to this board but been around Arfcom for a while under the same name..

So....
What is the deal with these? Are they any good or just a novelty item?

Seems that a FH that just slips on and uses a locknut can't be to secure.....
Asking because I have a few but don't really know what to do with them. I was planning on doing an M24 build but not sure if it worth keeping and using...I'm more of a fella that uses his rifles so I'm not real concerned with "correctness" of the system.

Im sure this has been discussed but please humor me..

The all mighty Google, says, they degrade accuracy. They were simply a flash hider for non threaded barrels, to reduce blinding a Night Vision setup.
